I feel like I should add something to this, but I think itsasecret and SecretAgentMom covered this eloquently. But it was definitely good for a much needed laugh today.

Just do what we all do.. Sign up for MSCs and wait for them to get back to you or check their job boards.
Why would a busy scheduler e-mail someone and ask them to sign up? Meanwhile there are shoppers using the list at the bottom of every page and signing up on their own.

Try Freeman and Franchise Compliance. No, don't, I want all those shops. The pay's great and they pay mileage and bonus.
Hmmm, sarcasm font got a workout on this thread. I'm still chuckling!

Ok I sent a e-mail, i wont be a d****** like some others in this thread
BestMark, Gfk, Sentry and i will let you find the others ;-)
tucson, I hope OP is in the Tucson area and not where I live. I'm lucky to find three local shops a month up here. There's a reason the rest of us aren't handing these newbies a road map to our jobs. I've never been one to train my replacement for free.

Hollywood, forum members won't usually reveal their work sources. Read various threads under mystery shopping companies to find out which companies are the most discussed. That will give you clues as to which have the most work. Pick a few that interest you and sign up to see what they have in your area. The companies named by tucsondirect would be very minor players in my area with limited jobs offered. While they may certainly have jobs in your area, I don't think they'll be the major players. It's not likely anyone is going to put you on to the really good companies where you live.

The bigger a company is, the more complaints you'll find. That's because they book more work. Look for companies with a lot of postings and a lot of issues that do not relate to non-payment of accepted reports. You're looking for companies with jobs to offer who pay their bills.

I have no problem helping someone with fresh eyes get into the arena. Everyone deserves a chance to do something good. If they don't jive with the work they will leave or get canned. If they do quality work with exceptional detail, more clients will ask for more work, knowing that they are getting what they pay for.

This type of work is hard enough as it is, why should we fight with one another? Yes the jobs are scarce but there are always jobs, even those jobs that you are too good to do. Why not let them pick the jobs up?
Tucson, you are free to post your entire company list as long as you don't post the company names and client names in the same thread. Please do feel free to post all your company names frequently for the benefit of newcomers, and please be sure to identify if you are actually in Tucson. That would be pertinent to usage of your list. New and experienced shoppers in your area will be grateful for your consideration and generosity. Those of us who might be traveling through from time to time would also appreciate your list.

Mystery shopping is a line of work that can readily be researched on line and can be entered into by anyone with no outside assistance. This forum is a great place to find information freely shared on work procedures, work experiences, and payment habits of companies.

Your willingness to share your source information to help others is admirable. However, you will find others who will not share the names of their job sources. Many consider the job sources to be proprietary information developed by each individual shopper. You are under no obligation to honor this forum standard. Feel free to post away, and welcome to the forum.

MDavisnowell Thank You.

And For the OP I am located in Tucson, and do shops all over AZ. You are more than welcome to PM me on this site if you need help getting your foot in the door with companies that i have had good experiances with. BestMark is not a mojor player in AZ however they pay like clockwork and their online site is one of the smoothest i have used.
I used to be naive enough to "help" others by telling too much... until I realized, as stated by many others here, that I was shooting myself in the foot by giving away my jobs and income.

Maybe you're lucky where you live that there's more work than you can handle and you have no actual need for the money. But most of us are in this to make as much money as we can, and we need that money.

I figured this out all by myself, and had many 'light bulb' moments along the way. If I can do it, so can any/everyone else. I didn't even find this forum til I'd been shopping for over a year. I did learn some slick tricks here to make the work easier and more profitable, but I had the basics figured out all by myself.

And yes, I ran from the V site... Good Lord! : )

Hi All,

I just wanted to let anyone who happens to be following this thread (re: AZ shoppers) know that Phoenix, and particularly Tucson, are specific cities where we would like to recruit more *experienced* shoppers for some great restaurants in the two metro areas. We have lunch and dinner/bar locations available on a monthly basis, and would welcome new evaluators.

If you are not currently registered with us, please see the link below in my sig tag and submit your survey.

If you are a registered shopper with us, you can also email me direct (email below) if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,

Tucson - Thank you. I'm already under way with mystery shopping, but I need to keep signing up with new companies. There's no permanent best list for any area as things change all the time. That's why it's so important to encourage new shoppers to sign up with companies on an ongoing basis and to learn how to develop their own businesses. It's easy to get started mystery shopping. What's hard is to make it work over the longer term. Support on the forum is a big factor for me, but independence is still what makes it work.

He's a guy from Phx, Az .....
He has a long record of doing work at home and IC type jobs, just because someone makes a first post and doesn't come back right away doesn't make them a Troll.... He also wasnt being a trouble maker..... I see over 7 diffrent Trolls in this thread, and he is not one of them..

Edited to complete a few words that didnt make it to the keyboard in a complete manner

Tucson, I agree that Hollywood's not posting again doesn't mean he/she is a troll. Lots of people don't post a lot, or will only post from time to time. Hollywood seems like a nice person trying to get information and not realizing that the information might be considered proprietory. It was kind of you to offer the names of MSPs in your area. That was a personal choice. Others may choose differently and do not deserve your condemnation and ridicule for their choice.

I don't understand why you think there are seven different trolls in this thread. I see there are different opinions here, but because someone doesn't agree with you does not make that person a troll. Posters to this thread have actually been considerate. You referred to forum members as d***** bags, and your choice of language and your propensity to name call (as in d*****bags)begs the question of what you are.

The greatest benefit from being a forum member will derive from getting along with others and being able to post queries and receive responses. I believe posters such as yourself should always be welcomed for two main reasons. (1) You provide conflict, which increases readership. (2) You are highly entertaining. Thank you for your contributions.

I just noticed at the top of the page I see a pop up red banner offering a "Tolerance Analysis". Wow. How appropriate is that?
Scary on target.

It's not exactly like anyone who comes here hasn't already been provided with a list, it's at the bottom of every single page.

There are a ton of reasons we don't provide people with lists for specific areas and the biggest is there really are few, if any, companies that concentrate on specific regions or states. What makes more sense is for new shoppers to sign up with job boards, such as Jobslinger, and see what companies are currently offering shops in the area. After that they still need to keep signing up with more and more companies. Just because a company doesn't have something today doesn't mean they won't tomorrow, or next month or next year.

Something else to keep in mind, we welcome legitimate questions from new shoppers, but with all the information contained here is it really too much to ask them to do some reading instead of posting a question like this less than seven minutes in? MS is a business that takes some hard work and research. I still research companies prior to registering. I feel that someone who doesn't want to invest some time probably won't last. So all of our lists and words of encouragement are better spent mentoring new shoppers who are in this for the long haul.

Agreed, With only one note of digression, No specfic person was named or called a D******** not was it intended as a direct slam against them. It just seemed like a d******* thing to do to a new guy. If i was shot down the fist time i came to the board it would leave a quite bitter taste in my mouth and i proabably wouldn't want to join the community.

Just a side note i found a few pics of the OP and he is not some one i would ever want to mess with in person!
So that's what the d with the stars meant? I was thinking of something else and it wasn't doodoo head.
