Full time challenge!

In all honesty, the OP has quite a way to go before seriously considering video shopping. He will need more than the few traditional shops and the work from the apps won't prepare him.

I don't plan on doing video shops anytime soon. I am just focusing on regular shops to get started. I did a BJ's shop yesterday and I have a spencers gifts shop to do tomorrow and a Best Buy shop to do Thursday.

I will most likely scoop up all 20 CVS display checks from my one app. I have such a high ranking that I can reserve up to 20 jobs as soon as they come out. I hoard every shop within 20 miles of me LOL
Just did a $12 shop for field agent at Lowe's. Good start to the week smiling smiley
I know this is the only thread you have posted to, out of curiosity have you been reading threads in the other sections of the forum?

OP, I understand you are excited about your new endeavor but we really do not need to be updated on every single job you got, are planning on doing or just finished. Isn't that what FB is for? To annoy your friends with a blow-by-blow of your day?

Actually I would not recommend posting anything about MS'ing on a social network. Some MSCs/clients have the forbidden rule of posting and checking in on social network services. Keep the mystery in mystery shopping.
I like to hear about some of the different ways the OP is earning money, but I agree with @Sybil2, I don't care about each Field Agent job done one at a time.
Sorry for the frequent posts, I will stick to a weekly update until I reach my 1k a week goal.
I appreciate everything you are doing. However, we are a mystery shopping forum. Some shoppers utilize the apps, but it is not a big focus. This section of the forum is for new members to introduce themselves. My suggestion would be to post in the general chat area about the apps. Specific questions about types of shopping or mystery shopping companies are best addressed by creating a thread in the appropriate section with a unique subject line identifying the question if you have not been able to find an answer in an existing thread by using the search function.

vivid, I'm enjoying your posts and progress. Keep them coming!

If I didn't enjoy them, I wouldn't read them....

I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy reading about the journey and the OP should continue to post as long as there are readers.

I believe any questions he has should be posted in different threads, either existing threads on the same subject or new ones. When my time is limited I often scan the boards to see if anyone is having problems in case I can jump in and lend a hand. Reading longer threads is reserved for when I have the luxury of time. I don't think I'm unique in that approach.

As the OP goes along, I would also like to see him contribute to some of the existing threads. There have been several about apps like Gigwalk over the last six months or so. The OP could provide valuable feedback.

Discovery is so beautiful. To share that is divine! Why do you think that when you go to a concert only a FEW people are truly enjoying themselves, dancing together, singing or dancing alone....as close to the stage as they can possibly get? I think the disenthralled could just change the channel. I was following this thread and I found myself, saying to myself "oh, yea, that's a good idea" or, oh he's got a long way to go to reach $1k a week, hey I wonder if I should set my goals higher" or, hum, I haven't looked enough into video shopping.

Now I have to wait a week. It's like dropping your lollipop and thinking you could just wash it off and then watching you folks walk along and step on it. Or, as they say in Hawaii, eh, bra, why u gotta ack li'dat, you stay drinking or what?
I most definitely will contribute to other threads. I have been doing the apps for quite some time and I an provide valuable feedback.

And I stayed in this are of the forum because I am a NEW mystery shopper. I have only a few shops under my belt and a few members have personally reached out and showed me some great things! I understand posting too frequently might ignore some people. I just thought this thread would be something different and show people if you can truly make a decent living from this profession.

I plan on keeping this thread going and I will post less frequently. Instead of every gig or job I do I will post a daily update on the amount I reached that day.

Today I have a phone training call with Merrill Lynch for an investment shop tomorrow at a local bank.
More great news. We all applaud your progress. Because the Member Introductions area is one that is skipped by most of the forum members, I support continuing any new posts in the main forum area. Your posts would be read by more forum members and you would probably receive more comments and feedback.

Also, for great tips, see the New Mystery Shopper area, [www.mysteryshopforum.com]
What would you say the experience level would be for the Best Buy audits? There is 6 Best Buys near me and the pay is great. I can imagine it is very hard and time consuming. I also need a background check and drug screen. How would I go about doing this?

Thanks!
The MSC should have instructions as to the drug screening and background check.

An audit is something that I would sign up for ONE of to test, not several. That said, I have not done this audit, so will hope that you post your question in the MS area of the forums where more will see it. By posting everything in the Introductions section, you are missing the "eyes" and advice of 95% of the forum community with your questions.

Try a search for Best Buy or Best Buy audits. There has actually been a lot of discussion just over the last two months about the audits with a variety of opinions.

End of week update:

Gigwalk- $20 supermarket audit
$30 for 2 car dealer visits, $15 for Best Buy buy online and store pick up
Easy Shift- $12 for 2 shifts
Field Agent -$4

I tried to focus on MS this week, I had a mix up with a merrill lynch investment that I had to decline. My first 2 auto shops went well and I have established a few connections with local schedulers. I figured that putting in some extra time with the MSCs will pay off in the long run! I plan on scheduling a lot of shops in March, I realize a lot of the shops for February have been already taken. I have an even to photograph tomorrow so I will be ending the week today. Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for following along smiling smiley

You included the name of a client along with the MSC. Both confidentiality clauses in our contracts and the forum posting guidelines prohibit linking the two.

Easy enough mistake that happens to all of us, often more than once (raises hand). It seems people have developed the habit of using the names of clients when discussing the apps. I'm not sure if the apps have an ICA including a confidentiality clause. Whether they do or not, I always thought the forum guidelines would still apply.

Some retail grocery store and specialty audits are offering $130 to perform and the MSC said you could perform two of them in one day if you had a partner. Think about that because you might consider going for the bigger money. My son was paid $28 a hour to perform a audit with his wife, they made 16 hours x $28 plus the company bought them lunch and dinner. How is that for getting well paid to do a audit! I have four kids who do mystery shops, a few girl friends and many friends so my connections through them are growing fast.

If you had access to some high paying audits like my son and his wife did, that's $28 * 16 hours bringing the total to $448 for two love birds. That's half your weekly goal my friend!

Yeah, their really good for punishing our incredible auditor who use to get paid almost double with enough time to do extra shops. You would make more money working at Best Buy on a hourly basis than doing these audits according to the most excellent sources. Sad their site is loaded with more audits and nobody is willing to do any? I mentioned so other places offering $120 to perform two audits (tag team) so that's $240 and the employer said they should not take more than eight hours to perform both jobs, not a bad gig! Plus you can do a few more shops bring your total to $300 hitting one-third of your target. Good Luck!
In my area, the Best Buy is ALWAYS offered at $200. To me, that's worth it for a whole day. But the reviews I've read on here about that audit scare the crap out of me. I actually went through with my drug test and background check, paid over $60 with the promise of reimbursement after the first one, took a day off my full time job to do it, spent 2 hours studying and passing the qualifying test, and never heard from the scheduler. Found out later that scheduler quit. I have never decided to try it again, even though I'd get my $60 some bucks back..
There have also been lots of negative stories about that MSC but besides their long reports, I've never had an issue with them. One time I wasn't paid my promised bonus, and they paid me that within a week. So despite the negative comments on the MSC, that's not what scares me about this audit. It's the Best Buy portion of it, ugh!
Sorry, not trying to turn this into a Best Buy discussion, just putting in my two cents on the audit. smiling smiley
I have had no issues with the MSC, yet... I will steer clear of the Best Buy Audit, I do not see the value in this at all. I loved doing the Dealership visits, they were quick and easy. I'm sure there are companies out there that pay way better to do them though :/
Do you live in a big city? I never see anything on Gigwalk, Field Agent or Easy Shift. I did 1 Field Agent, so easy and paid well. Wish i could do more!
I live in the Lehigh Valley of PA, I usually have a few app jobs a day.
I'm new to this forum and great info ! I've signed up and did a few With and they offered Spencers gifts but I do not see them anymore . [request for other forum members to violate forum rules and ICAs has been deleted by mod]

Mod note: It is against forum rules and an ICA violation to link the client with the MSC
Update.

I focused on Mystery shopping this week instead of the Apps!

2 Car Dealerships- $34
2 Spencer Gift shops- $20
1 Best Buy Shop- $15
1 Rite Aid via App-$12
2 Sports Authority via App-$10

Still not making that much but I am not giving up!
