HS Brands stinks at payments !!!

Day 48 today, waiting on payment (s) from this terrible company !!!
Complain all you want about IPSOS, at least they pay early and often.
Their schedulers whine about extensions (3 extra days) They call themselves
a GLOBAL COMPANY !!! HA ! HA ! HA ! I guess the VERY LARGE gas station
(BLUE AND YELLOW) they have, is holding payments ?? I DON'T THINK SO !!!

There is a reason why HS Brands used to be called Service Sloth (Their previous name was Service Sleuth). However, I thought they had been getting better at paying on time. Sorry you are dealing with this.

Sad to say, but depending on their pay cycle, 48 days may not be considered late. I do minimal work for these slow-payers (Sentry would be another one) so that my working capital is not tied up for months.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown
The payment cycle is much longer, but you knew that when you accepted the job. Why complain about something you agreed to?
I didn't look at the pay cycle ! It was normally 30 days, not 35 to 60 !!
It was not just 4 or 5 shops either, it was 24 !! Over $450
In the job confirmation for these, they state payment is 50 days or sooner. In reality, Payments have been around day 62. So I think it’s a valid complaint. They are already really slow, but they don’t even meet their own slow schedule.

With HSBrands it's easy to go over 60 days before you get paid. And it is spelled out clearly in their agreements. I don't usually do work for them, but when I do, I make sure that I'm not going to need to depend on getting that money from them any time soon. It's the nature of the beast when you're an IC. If you want a regular paycheck, this isn't the job you want.
Basically, it should not be over 30 days. The shop is a very large
gas station company (over 5,000) The cash should be there !
Do the office people at Horrible @#$%& Brands wait 60 days to get paid ? No !
Been in this business for over 15 years ! I know the BS with being a
IC. No preaching needed. 2024, it should not take that long. It didn't
the last 2 rounds.
The only MSC I know of that regularly pays in under 30 days is Ipsos. Most others will tell you that for all shops completed and accepted (key phrase there) in Month A, you'll be paid on whatever day in Month B they process payroll. If that ends up being less than 30 days, then it's simply luck of the draw for when you did your shops and when they do payroll.

Not saying you don't have a gripe, but going forward maybe don't put your eggs in a slow-payer's basket.

FWIW, I doubt the size of the client has any bearing on the speed of the payment. That is the MSC's pay schedule across the board.

I am only able to accurately comment concerning my personal experiences with Service Sleuth. It began in 2006, with my last job in Sept. of 2022. There simply has not been any work since that date that interested me. To the best of my recollection, I was ALWAYS paid according to the agreement.

Two other posters have mentioned the payment terms are clearly listed. Of this I am ignorant, but during the 16 yrs. of my activity, I knew exactly when I would be paid AND I accepted those conditions. When an MSC SHOULD pay is totally irrelevant. If work to my liking were to become available with SS, SB would not hesitate to apply.

A final comment concerning Ipsos: That company's business model is geared toward paying a small fee, but quickly, for a considerable amount of work. If a shopper is satisfied with their program, the old adage mentions "To each his/her own."
Since I opened up a can of worms... PAYMENTS from some :
IPSOS ( weekly) Presto ( twice a week) Intouch (biweekly) Customer Impact (monthly)Alta360 (monthly)
For me, these 5 companies I do a lot of work with. I make a good living from, with pay dates you can rely on !!

What is a considerable amount of work ??? IPSOS shops, are simple.
Ipsos fast pay is one of the good things about the company.

That’s not really the problem.

The problem with Ipsos is their lack of communication with their shoppers
What communications are needed, if you followed the instructions ?
I have NEVER had a shop for IPSOS, that I needed communications,
I have NEVER had a rejected shop or whatever.
I don't understand what issues everyone has with them ?!?!?!
If there is a delay, I receive emails almost right away. I am able to contact
KEY people at IPSOS all the time. Just last week, I took shops on Presto,
it was a mistake posting, I got an email right away.!
Now, I don't know about everyone else, but I had relationships (phone/emails)
with Maritz, those who stayed with IPSOS after the takeover, I can still contact
them. I am sorry for newer people, who do not have this ability.
claabe inquires--What is a considerable amount of work ???

Bob responds--The last shop I noticed before terminating my contract with Ipsos, was with a 1/5th of a trillion dollar + oil company that required a minimum, as stated, 25 pics for $12.50 + $5. In addition, as stated, any of the pics being unacceptable was cause for the job being rejected. From a logical standpoint, the greater number of requirements increases the likelihood of error.

It is my opinion the time to travel, complete the shop and enter the report well exceeds the offer of $12.50 + $5. Therefore, such work is not for SB, BUT, it might be for you.
25 pictures !?!? Large station ? With the new format, no issues, 7 pictures.
I don't do many $12 shops (only local and all clean stations) 10 minutes and gone
14 pictures and that is at a station that has issues, that shop was for $75 ($300 for 4, end of the month)
Still, no rejected shops or pictures. Not sure what you did wrong ?
I work in 4 states (DE,MD,VA and PA) There is always tons of work.
But, as you said...to each their own
Also, won't take a year to get paid !!!
claabe comments--Not sure what you did wrong ?

Bob replies--If that comment were directed to me, I stated in my previous reply to you that I had NOTICED, neither accepted nor completed. In addition, the job description clearly stated there would need to be a minimum of 25 pics.

Hmm not really. They pay according to their agreement with you.
Do a shop of Feb 1st, expect to wait 8 weeks. Do a shop on Feb 27th, expect to wait 4-5 weeks.

In my years of shopping with them, I have been reimbursed upwards of $100,000 in expenses from them. No that is not a typo. Biggest check was over $25,000. Never once did I ever worry about getting paid. Anything over $2,000, we come to an agreement to be paid more quickly. Otherwise, I just wait until the end of the following month to get paid.

Your post only shows that you didn't read the agreement.
My other post stated, "No IC preaching needed".
Last two rounds of payments were 30 days.
Thought they were getting more conscientious in their
payment times. No matter what, it should not be 60 days.
I did two jobs for them in the past 6 months. One of them had more than the paltry pay I usually get at other msc's . The reports were amazingly easy to do and I was reimbursed for both hefty fees for regular maintenance type things many of us need to pay out of pocket for. Yes I had to wait a while for my reimbursement but it was only a short time beyond when I had to send in payment to my credit card company. For shoppers who can afford to wait a short extra time to be reimbursed these are great shops. I saved over $400 of what would have been out of pocket expense without a shop.

Back when they were Service Sleuths, it would often take over 90 days. They've improved since then.

Waiting 8 weeks for payment means they stink at payments.
Same here! They clearly publish the expected date of pay. I think my last one was the 20th of the month following the month of job completion.
