FYI - I just called around to check hours. The pharmacy at that location closed at 6pm today. (I was supposed to finish the shop before 8pm, and was there before 7pm.)
Also, the pharmacy at that location and at the one that I have assigned tomorrow are both only open 9am - 5pm tomorrow for the holiday, as well as some of the other local locations. So if you are doing a shop tomorrow, call to check. The holiday hours were under #3 on the recordings.
Meanwhile, the pharmacy at the location that I usually use is open 24 hours, with no special holiday hours. I waited to talk to a real person just to confirm, and she seemed confused that I thought they might even be closing at all and reiterated that they are open 24 hours. The one on the other side of me is open 8am - 10pm tomorrow.
To me, one of the things that sets Walgreens apart is the 24-hour drive-thru pharmacy. I've literally talked to my pharmacist at 3am before. (I was awakened up by intense heartburn, and went in to get something to help. It turned out that it was caused by a prescription drug that I had just started taking.)
Yes, this is an example of one of the many reasons that I live where I do. ...And why it didn't even occur to me that the pharmacy would be closed that early today.
