I do not like doing lunch, due to their limited lunch menu and eating in a hurry. I'd rather do the dinner, even though I don't drink and have to discreetly get rid of the liquor.

However did you come out under budget on a Capitol Grille shop? Wow, I am impressed. Like others here, I order the lowest priced wines because we don't drink and we always seem to come out over budget. Great place to eat though if you have a little extra to splurge.

Long story short. They messed up my order and ended up comping almost everything on the menu. Plus they offered us complimentary desserts. I think my meal came to like $60.00

When you make your phone reservation, they ask about special occasions and I tell them we are celebrating birthday, anniversary, or whatever. They comp the dessert. My hubby does not eat steak (ever!), seafood or chicken is cheaper than steak. I order house wine at the bar and hubby orders beer. We don't drink, so it doesn't matter what we order, but they are the cheapest. With beer in a dark bottle, there's no way to tell, if he drank any or not.

When I did their lunch shop, they had quick lunches for 15.00 including dessert.

He likes seafood and pork. It's hilarious when they auction off our meals. Funny expressions when I get the steak and he gets salmon.

Excuse me? Did they change their lunch requirements? The last time I was only allowed to order from the special section of the lunch menu, and no dessert. There was also a 45 minute requirement, so there's no time to have dessert. I would consider doing lunch again, if they allow dessert and ease up on the time allowance.

I consider Capital Grille to be a "special night out", so if I end up having to pay an extra ten bucks out of pocket, it is still and good deal. Here in Texas, the wines start at $8.00.

I have not gone out of pocket for the meal. But, I am not reimbursed the $2 valet tip. :-(

I did a dinner shop there once. We decided to splurge and get something nicer. We were about $40 out of pocket and the food was mediocre at best. I've been reluctant to return.

We are going again later this week. Our 10th anniversary is 3 days later, so this will be our celebration.
