My first time was on a shop, too. It is heavenly, isn't it?

I was thankful that I had a fitness class that burned 1000 calories in an hour. I didn't feel the least bit guilty about that amazing cheesecake!
Mystery shopping is a great way to try new restaurants! Expensive or cheap, I've gotten hooked on several that I would not have tried otherwise.

Did them 7 years ago. My kids didn't like the chicken fingers. There was something off on the taste. The waitress said maybe it was because "they weren't in the shape of animals". Bye bye!
Love the Cheesecake Factory. Red Velvet Cake? Yaaaasssss!
Mmmm...I've never tried the red velvet. I love the one with Kahlua in it.

I've been doing those shops for years and make an effort to stay away from the cheesecake. Thank goodness it is not a requirement to order dessert. I usally get a salad or chicken dish. Rarely we will splurge; my favorite is the S'mores chesecake.
Dulce de leche for me, please!

Godiva Cheesecake.
The artichoke appetizer is my favorite.

I like the Lemoncello cake. I don't like cheesecake and won't do a shop that pays in gift cards for that shop.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I don't mind the gift card payment, but the menu prices have gone up so much over the past 6 years or so that I've been doing the shop, it's time they increased the gift card amount.

When I first started shopping CF, the Chicken Bellagio (my favorite) was $12.25 or $12.50. Now it's $15.50 and most of the entrees are over $16, yet the gift card is still the same payment.
For that amount of payment, is the report full of long narratives or as simple as an arches shop?

If it's a long report, I'd rather do two arches jobs and then just go on my own dime and just enjoy it.

I just found the MSC and signed up recently. I have not done any assignments with them yet.
There are narratives for each section. I do them on my iPad and just talk instead of write. Arches are easier but I love the food at CCF. I don't usually get cheesecake tho. I use the gift cards and treat friends to a nice lunch.

Today I Will Choose Joy!

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!
I don't think the narratives are too bad. Each section starts off with questions that you answer by picking a choice - such as how long was it before XX happened - between a & b, b & c, or c & d. There are a bunch of them (you can fly through those), then at the end you basically write a summary of what happened - not an overly long one. My mom loves Cheesecake Factory so I view it as a huge coupon since we have to order cheesecake (according to Mom, not the shop requirements).

I try to do a few of the late night ones and bar ones where I order two drinks and one salad and have leftover money on my card. Then I can use the leftover money when I do a shop at regular dinner time. Other hint, if you can wait....do not order the cheesecake there! Buy a full Cheescake factory cheesecake with about 14 a bit smaller slices, but definitely big enough, at costco. It costs less than 2 slices at the restaurant. Keep it in the freezer and take out a slice when you need a treat. Sometimes they have flavors but the original is my favorite.
My husband and I shop the Cheesecake Factory once a month. I love their lunches. They give you so much food you can share. The report is easy. Just mark the times from start to finish. I always stay in the budget. They don't require you to purchase a lot of food.
In So Cal, a guy i dated worked at the factory in, I think it was Newport Beach, CA......

No, I NEVER, EVER GOT A FREEBIE! He was a driver and he kept a whole lotta em
for himself too!
I have not managed to stay in budget with two of us. The report is a fairly easy one with narratives in multiple sections.

I love that place! They have awesome salads. My issue: they do not pay a shop fee for doing the report, so I only go there on my own dime...
Is there a company that does these who reimburses any amount of the meal? I would not do one of these to be paid with a gift certificate a month later. I want $$$ not another meal to pay for.
They used to have a german chocolate cheesecake that was to die for! I am only alive because they discontinued it.

Aloha everyone!

Would you mind sharing the company that offers CCF shops?
I'm a year in as a shopper and still wet behind the ears.

Many thanks!
Unfortunately we can't. It is the only real rule of the forum and violates most Independent Contractor Agreements signed when we register for companies.

I went $10 over budget today doing a lunch shop at CF. Ended up ordering full dinners. With tip $17 over.

I bought a $25 gift card in December and got free cheesecake coupons, so I already had that on top of my $40 gift card from the last shop there. I even put the tip on the gift cards. The gift card did not take 30 days to arrive either. It was delivered in less than two weeks.

You can easily keep using the gift card for the next shop, so you only pay once. You can also stay under budget and save credit from a lunch shop to cover the most expensive dinners on the next shop.

I'll do it at least once a month if I can get it.
