Eight hours? really?

There is a job board by Presto that has been posting a job for a particular new restaurant I would like to try. When I click for details I read that the job has to be completed within eight hours of acceptance by me. Eight hours? What if I want to accept the job at Midnight? What if I'm already booked that day? Are they serious?

So just say you accept the job at 8 AM . You have until 4 PM to complete the require shop and input the results?
almost--I'm interpreting the guidelines as I have until 4 PM to complete the shop and then more time to input the results. I'm not a last minute kinda person to pick up shops the day of.
1) If you accept the job at Midnight, be sure that the restaurant will be open for at least a portion of the time between Midnight and 8 AM, and go when they are open.
2) If you are busy during the 8 hours following when you are considering accepting the job, don't accept it. Wait until you are available during the next 8-hour time period and be sure the restaurant will be open when you can go.
3), Yes, they are serious.

You do not get extra time to input. At exactly the 8 hour mark, even if you're in the middle of the report, it times out and you lose the job.
The below is what I remember' it is possible I am mistaken.

I completed my first grocery shop for Trendsource in the summer of 2006. In 2012, the grocer discontinued the program for approx. 1 1/2 yrs. Until 2019, the reports, after checking out, had a submission window of eight hrs. The window then was reduced to two hrs.

BTW, make sure you note exactly what time you accept a shop. The Presto count down clock will show that you have a lot more time left but when you go to enter the report the job will have expired. It adds extra hours onto the count down that you see but also secretly knows the real time, then snatches it away. True trickery.
The Presto countdown clock records the time you accept your jobs in your local time, but counts down in ET. The countdown clocks here in AL end an hour early EVERY time.

With the 8 hour shops I don't claim them until I'm in the city that the shop is in. Claiming them before I leave or while I'm still at home almost guarantees that I will be too late.

Ooooh. Well isn't that stupid. The app *REQUIRES* location services but it can't figure out where a shop or shopper's time zone is located??? OMG.
I remember doing a shop for a MSC, The report was due at Midnight. I live on the west coast. I was finishing up the shop at 9:30pm and the shop was rejected. The scheduler told me they were on the east coast, so the shop was late. I told them the report does not say eastern or western time. They didn't care, the shop was rejected.

More like maniacally evil.

I suffered through that app doing several rounds of the tax kiosk audits.

I no longer work for that company, and am now able to avoid the Satanic Water Gopher entirely.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
