IPSOS cell phone shops. Why are people not doing them?

I went back into my emails and found one about wrapping up these smartphone shops. It is titled, "Grab these smartphone shops while you can,". But there is nothing stating the program is over.

I've thought about doing these, but the description confuses me and I can never find my phone listed as current scenario or whatever. I assumed that since they are always up on the board, they must not be worth the time for the money. I would like to try these, if I could use my old cell phone model.

Just my 2 cents. I don't like shops like this. The most prevalent one used to be the mattress store shops. Paid well. Indoors. No purchase. But making this guy go through all of these hoops just to say, "I'll think about it." after 30 minutes just seems rude to me. Cell phone shops can be the same way. It will take an unusually large fee for me to jump on board.

The strange thing is that, with me, somehow inconveniencing the guy at the big box retailers/hardware stores is just fine with me.
I do not have a problem if a company wants its employees to be mystery shopped. It's part of the employment contract. Only in mattress shops will I do competitor shopping since it is an accepted practice. But I'll be cognizant of others there. So far, I have not interfered with someone making an income.

I've done numerous of these smart phone shops. As you have surmised, they are back, albeit for the new models and accessories. The part that gives me the most problem are demonstrations. Like for batteries.

The worst case scenario for these shops is that you wait 19 of the required 20 minutes, then get assistance. The time limit is approximately 20 minute wait. I believe its 1/2 fee then. I do 10-15 of these a month. I work them into areas I go to. The hardest part is writing up the promotions, or why one or more of the features were not demonstrated.

I did a few of these a couple weeks ago, and waited over 20 minutes before leaving (because I immediately found someone, so, I didn't know if I should wait 15 or 20 minutes, but was put on a wait list and never called), and only got $5.
Oh wow that’s happened to me a few times and they pay me the full amount. Some editors will be annoying and will ask me to explain why I wasn’t helped.
It seems as if the $5 is if you don't actually talk to a sales rep. And the person that checks you in when you walk in is not the sales rep that you will be talking to, so you didn't find anyone at all.

I was thinking about going back and doing a few of these but I'm not going to get paid to sit there for a half an hour while I'm ignored then I'm not going to do it.
At a couple I did the check in thing only and waited 20 minutes total and was still paid full amount even though never helped.(sometimes checkin people also do sales, as happened another time). A couple other times there was no check in but a salesperson did look over at me and said someone will be with you. But this was a while ago. Maybe different now?

Omg just looked at latest guidelines and it says if you’ve waited 20 minutes and not been helped (even after asking for help!) you get partial pay. This is new! Well now I’ll have to keep in mind what time of day I go.
Download an app that can read exif data for picture files, something like "exif reader", and open your photo with that, you will be able to see all the metadata contained in that file. It's always safe to check any photo you send or upload anywhere, social media included. If you get an app that lets you "write exif data" even better, because then you can edit the data or erase stuff you don't want to share.
