MovieMeasure

Has anyone done these? Curious what it entailed and how the MSC is vis a vis instructions and payment. Thank you.

I signed up for one shop days in advance. I read the instructions and everything sounded fine.... Take a few photos and select what form of advertising it was (cardboard cutout, poster, backlit, ground sticker, etc.) in their app.

It's wasn't a mystery shop, it was more of an audit with the manager's permission, required signature included.

Then a few hours before the shop, they sent the FULL instructions which explained that I needed to take photos of every single movie advertisement at the theater- exterior, inside the lobby and in the halls, and log what form of advertising it was..... You couldn't make this known when I accepted the job so I could plan the rest of my day accordingly?

The email with the robust instructions included a "cancel this shop" button. I clicked it then deleted my account.

Depends on which assignment you take. Those full theater audits are an exercise, though they're still better than when Certified had them. The trailer checks are easy, just time consuming. The builds are...builds.

Bob agrees--I would have taken the same action.
The Lobby checks, which is the assignment you are referring to, is really not as big of a deal as you are making it out to be. Seriously. Im in and out of my theater in 20 minutes, at one location and 10 at another.

Unless you are living in NYC or LA and auditing a ginormous multi-level Metropolitan theater, this is not an all day assignment by any means.

Btw 20 minutes is recording 30 posters plus 3 installs and banner. So good grief. An easy assignment I'd much rather do than deal with other Mystery shops.

Movie Measure is good when they have the work available.
@BabyBooey19 Movie Measure pays you via PayPal once a month at the beginning of each month.

The assignments they have are related to Movie theaters. Each assignment is easy and everything is done through an app on your phone, which means once you leave the theater, you do not need to go home and fill out an additional report. Your work is done. It's quick and easy work, do not go by people who have done any assignments because they did not understand the assignment.

The assignments they offer most often at this time are trailer checks. You sit in a theater, and record the trailers, in the order, they appear on the screen in each auditorium a particular feature is showing.

The next is a Lobby check they do every 3 months at a limited selection of theaters. This one is not an all-day assignment; you take 2 pictures of promotional displays, posters, and anything advertising movies, then answer 4 questions in a drop-down menu in the app and move on to the next item. Once done, you're done, no additional paperwork is needed. I've done grocery shops for MF that are more tedious and time-consuming than this.

They get installs occasionally, which are the standees you see in theaters, and you can build those too, which varies on pay and time depending on the complexity of the install itself.

Last but not least, rarely they get Open checks which pay the most. Now, this is the all-day assignment, where you stay at a theater, and count people for all showtimes of a certain feature, all day and all night. They haven't had this type of assignment in a long time, but it's worth the paycheck when it does come along.

Unless there's a lot of work, you don't make much money, but for those of us who got tired of the other side of mystery shopping with restaurants, fast food, grocery stores, and all other stuff, I really enjoy the Theater audits, and prefer it.
