Boo Boo with Bestmark!

I made a giant rookie mistake on a $100 restaurant shop last night and I could just cry! I failed to get an itemized receipt and only got the credit card receipt. I called the restaurant and they emailed me an itemized printout which I uploaded and also forwarded the restaurant email to the scheduler so they could see that it did come from the restaurant.

It was a very tedious Shop with a very long report and so many names and exact times down to seconds! After getting through all of that I can't believe I forgot the receipt!

Does anyone have enough experience with Beatmark to know if I have the sliver of a chance being reimbursed?

I've worked with Bestmark for many years and they have always been fair to me. If the receipt was the only issue and you got the receipt, I think you should be okay.

Sometimes guidelines say we are not to contact the customer (client) after the shop for any reason.

However, we are also supposed to represent the "normal" customer. I can see many scenarios where a diner might require an itemized receipt -- expense report for work, for example. So I wouldn't think a phone call for an itemized receipt would be out of the ordinary.

Best of luck. Keep us posted.

When I asked for the itemized receipt I told them I needed it for a business reimbursement, which I would need had I been traveling for my job. I didn't think to check the guidelines before I called!

This is good to know for two reasons. Maybe I have a chance of not getting denied and I had a bit of a negative opinion of Bestmark when they kept pushing back my pay date on my last (which was my first) job for them. Their own guidelines say they pay on the 15th and 30th of the month following the shop and it took 8-9 weeks before the paid me. Also, no one would respond to my inquiries other than canned messages. I began to wonder if they were a legitimate company. I don't mind waiting as long as I know I can rely on them to pay at some point. Thanks!
I think you are good from my experience.
Have they gotten their payment issues resolved? Receipt is fine.

From my experience the payment side of the business is still broke . They pay really late and no one will respond to inquiries. It seems like the assignor/evaluator side is great and responsive
I'd be more concerned about getting paid and reimbursed at all from Bestmark. Lots of thread here and on Facebook about their complete lack of communication and payment to shoppers. You are brave to take one of their projects! Hopefully the meal was good.

Thankfully the meal and service were extraordinary! I wrote a detailed and comprehensive report and if they deny me because of the receipt I hope they don't use my work to provide feedback to the restaurant. That wouldn't seem fair.
Have you heard anything yet?
