Curinos mystery shopping company 'blind requirements'

I've done many assignments for Curinos. I have never done this handwritten one, nor will I. In all honesty, we cannot blame the MSC for something the client wants/expects. Its our responsibility to either say hell no and not take the shop or do what is required if we take the shop. We can @#$%& and moan all we want about a shop requirements, but as long as it's known upfront and we decide to do it, that becomes the shopper's responsibility regardless of how lame the requirements might be. This is why I try to get as much detail upfront before committing to a shop.

I am doing a new shop (for me) next week. I asked the scheduler how many questions and how much narrative. Once I knew I was able to made a choice of what I wanted to do.

My hope is if enough shoppers refuse to do the handwritten shops, the client will lose their business. I got the feeling even the MSC was frustrated with the client.
John. I realize this was frustrating for you, but "it is what it is.". Sometimes we spend more time complaining about something than the time it would take to do the task.

What is frustrating is knowing someone making work harder for others just because they want to. Seen this too many times in the company I worked for before. I am getting paid for the shop, so it's done.
That's absolutely crazy. I know one other company that can take as long as 3 weeks (RBG) and that's why I rarely do their shops. The main convenience is that they've all been shops I could do from home, not having to drive anywhere. It's completely unfair to shoppers to make them wait several weeks for their reports to be edited. You could do all that work, but if you just happen to be on vacation and not respond quickly to an editor when they finally get around to editing your work, then your work could be for nothing.
When we accept the shop we don't always know that there are these additional requirements, ones which would have changed out decision to accept the shop in the first place.
What the he||? If this is the case, why on earth would the instructions say a handwritten report is REQUIRED?

Why not be up front and save hundreds of shoppers hours of time, energy, hand cramps, etc., by stating that the report may be typed but that an actual signature is required?

Hi John,
What we really need is the signature the client requires an actual signature so if you can type the rest and print the last page and sign it then use the typed form it will be accepted. We have been actively trying to get this client to allow for a digital signature for years and they are just unwilling to accept that even 99% of mortgage companies minus the final escrow signing all accept electronic signatures so I get your frustration!
