A 1099 in October? Nope.

And Surfmerchants is a platform company, not an MSC. Unless you, say, worked on the air conditioning system at their computer center, they would not have paid you.

LiveShopper Sassie (formerly SurfMerchants) is the maker of Presto Insta-Shops, which does pay shoppers directly. We request a W9 when shoppers are close to reaching the limit at which the IRS requires we issue a 1099.

So yes, the request is legitimate, but please follow the instructions for submission. We do not want any SSNs directly submitted to our support ticket system. smiling smiley

Yes I did receive the email a long time ago when I was approaching $600 for the yr and the app would not allow me to self schedule anything unless I did that at a 3rd party website. I actually contacted presto to make sure it was a legit request.
