Will my shop be accepted??

Hello everyone. I just completed a fine dining shop for Customer Impact and I screwed up. It was a steakhouse and the guidelines clearly stated that if both guests order steak, they must be different cuts. I ordered the normal fillet and my guest ordered the petite fillet and shrimp entree. I was focused on the server and what was going on and missed this. I believe I did a great job on the shop otherwise, but I am now worried that I will be eating (no pun intended) the $150+ expense.

Has anyone had a similar experience with CI and what was the result?

Aren't they two different cuts?

Filet is not a cut of meat. You can have a filet of a cut of meat. If you both ordered filet mignon, then you may have both ordered the same cut. The filet mignon is just the small end of a tenderloin, tenderloin is the cut of meat.

Anyways, seems like you ordered two different dishes.

Hmmm. I have no idea, please let us know. It does seem that they might forgive this since they were two different sizes of steak, and maybe because one was a "surf and turf" type of meal it might get accepted. I wish you luck.
You ordered 2 different entrees- one steak, one surf n turf. I think you'll be fine. But then again, I am not your editor.

My name is Daniel Price and I'm the COO at Customer Impact. Just based off what you wrote in that post I think you should be fine. If you are worried or want to discuss it more, email me at dprice@customerimpactinfo.com and I'd be happy to review the shop or leave a note for the editors that we discussed it.

Thank you, Daniel, for being here with us! It is always good to hear from MSC representatives regarding shoppers' concerns. Kudos!
I add my cheers to the rest -- I've dealt with Mr Price, and in my opinion, he is the ultimate professional.
There are a few other MSC reps I like as well (Shopper's View Christine, KSS Pete, and a few more). I find it refreshing that they can come to the forum and diplomatically resolve most issues. There have been a few other reps and MSC owners who were not good at diplomacy. I agree that DP is pretty awesome with this.

But, while I have your ear, Mr. Price, I would like to bring to your attention that the merchandising jobs your company offers don't have great fees. I am glad you are able to fill them at a lowly fee, but as an experience merchandiser and project retrieval specialist, I make a much higher dollar with other companies. Hopefully you are getting quality people who conduct their tasks perfectly for that amount.

Thank you for your time, and thank you again for dropping into the forum and addressing issues!
My shop was accepted and I received a very good score. I lost my $12 fee, but I feel that is very fair, considering my mistake. Excellent MSC and I look forward to many more shops with them.

I would guess, based upon a similar situation in which I screwed up an aspect of a dinner shop, that the company accepted the shop but did not reward the shopper with complete fee and reimbursement. For me, the shop was accepted and something over budget was not reimbursed, or something. It was awhile ago... I was pleased because the outcome seemed fair and was related to what went wrong according to guidelines.

Having worked for CI 12 years, my top three companies, I would have said you'll be fine and in turn be careful next time, however Mr. Price was astute and answered. They are a top of the line company, but for you to worry about this shows you are a good shopper. Enjoy the many fine restaurants they provide.
