Hero

I think the best part of shopping is to be the hero that rescues a scheduler.

Yes you are booked, yes you have many things planned, but here is this person asking, no, begging you to help them! Athough they don't really like to be asking and you don't really want to be accepting, you do it! Yes, you take one for the team!

You have just become a real MS and may need to seek help for your addiction.

No, they never send us a SuperMan T-Shirt, but isn't it cool that if you ever meet this person, they might know who you are, fall to their knees, and ask you to hold out your hand in order for them to kiss your ring?

Whoops...I think I have become too descritive in my writing.

Short version: My scheduler ask me if I would do it and I said yes.

Hero citations are baloney, and phoney baloney at that.

Now, when a scheduler gets in a real bind and sincerely needs and asks for my help, that's different. When the MSP adds incentive, I return the favor, if possible. I won't gouge.
That's what makes you a Super Star. Congratulations!
I just recently turn down "the call" - I hate to do it but it was too far and I already have 27+ assignments lined up. I did feel very bad but with the price of gas at 3.13 around my parts, the drive just was not worth even a 20. bonus. But again I did feel very bad.
