ICCDS

The scheduler has the power! Lots of times I miss out or get passed over. However, my scheduler always then sends an email expressing appreciation, and notifies me the shop went to someone else.

I like them, although they do not pay high fees and their report form and submission of the receipt is quirky. They are self-serve in my area. This may be a choice that the area scheduler makes, because I have heard they are not self serve in other areas. I worked for over two years with one scheduler that I really liked (never talked to him/e-mailed only when I asked him something, which was fine with me) and all the area jobs were self-schedule. He left ICCDS several months ago and a new scheduler/area manager took over. She stopped the self-schedule and started to e-mail shoppers with opportunities and request that they e-mail her back, then she would decide who to award the shop to and she would e-mail you that you were assigned. I felt the loss of self assign made the shops less attractive to me, so I did not request any shops. After a month, this arrangement sounded permanent to me (no more self schedule ever) so I responded to one of her e-mails and told her, as nicely as I was able, how I felt. She responded that this worked best for her. So did not respond and continued to not apply for jobs. Suddenly, the next month, self schedule again. Maybe other shoppers in my area felt as I did.
Here, it's a hybrid. You're notified of available shops, and then you can self-schedule. That said, I can tell you for a fact that not everyone receives the same offers. The scheduler decides who the emails are sent to. For the most part, that's how she works, although there are some shops that are offered solely via email, with no ability to self-schedule.
I find your profile tells them what shops you are most qualified to do...check your profile with them. I just changed mine to say no more P/R, and stopped getting all those emails, I used to do them, no more, the pay 12.00 for two visits 60 miles rd. trip isn't working anymore with the high price of gas.

The profile option may help with screening out the types of shops, but not the other stuff we're talking about.
AM...I find your post correct, and have the same experience, but read my above post, that does help stop the floos of emails. They ask if you don't care to do the shop, and if you decline, you state why, they took my name off the P/R shops after I declined and gave reason.

This is a very professional firm. I'm very happy to work with them. Highly recommended.

Their report forms are, though, mercifully super short. I had to quit doing the high end bag P/R once they closed the location about 1 mile from my home. Like Irene said, totally not worth it.
I did not do my last P/R return due to major dental work. Now the 10 day return is overdue and I have a $38.00 wallet...yes, I can return it for merchandise, but not my $$. Now in order to get the purse I want, it's a mere $200.00 more.

I have never done a shop for ICCDS that requires a return portion to be filled out, just a purchase.
I have never seen a retail job that doesn't require a return, at least not here.

Here, on the shops for which the purchase is not reimbursed or included in the fee, the return is always optional. Of course, we all return the items! But, there is no return portion of the shop to be filled out, only the purchase.
The items at above shop are so expensive, I can't afford to keep them (would love too). Purchase is optional, but, for me the 10 day thing means I need to return in 10 days...so, it definitely is a P/R.

I did one the other day for the pocketbook place and wound up buying my husband a leather keychain for Valentine's Day; I got paid for the job as it was a bonus pay attached so I was happy as I look at it that the keychain only cost me 3 bucks after the job pay.

And I got one more thing off of my to do list!
Good one, suzieboz!

Irene, as for the return, if we're talking about the same store, you do not have to return within 10 days. As long as you have the receipt, they'll take it back.
edited to say, they did take it back, and I was misformed by the new Associate....I got an apology and an email giving me $100.00 off a purcase on a handbag.

Hmmm. Was it a sale item? Even if not, I'd call and ask to speak to a manager, regardless -- the customer service in these stores is so amazing, it's worth a call telling them you had a personal emergency. You never know...

Very strange that the policy in California would be so different than here. I've returned the item as long as a month later.
Does anyone have a contact number for ICCDS? I've been trying to contact a scheduler since Jan. 8th and have sent many emails to various addresses with no reply.

Hope this helps (found it on an email from last month)
As far as I know, Patty pretty much handles billing issues, etc., and quite honestly, she's not always responsive.

Lisa, if you PM me with the name of the scheduler you're trying to reach, I might be able to help. Also, sometimes I've found it helpful to call the main number and just speak to the person answering the phone.
I did the handbag shop last year and had to stay in the store for 20 minutes, felt like forever. Then I was able to return the bag in 20 or 30 minutes. That felt forever too as I really had nothing to do after I left the shop. But I was not going to leave the mall and waste my gas. I got paid 15.00 with no problems. I would do it again, if there were two shops to do at the mall so I wouldnt have to wait around to return the item.
$15.00? I find the shop and report easy, and I like that you can return to any location -- very convenient for me, as there are a lot of stores in my area. However, they're only $12.00 around here, which is why I won't do them anymore.
Only one of these hand bag stores here. How much would you do them for? Is $15.00 to low for me to accept? I also did a shop for $12.50 this month for them. Just had to walk in and get a credit card application which only took a few minutes and I was out!
When I did the pocketbook shop it was bonused up to 25.00 with the additional monies so it was well worth it.

That clothing store she emailed me about the other day and I would have done it in a second but someone already picked it up! As it at the one of the buildings you find on a farm?

I'd do the shop for $15, but still, only when it's convenient. I do a similar one for Beyond Hello every couple of months, but that one is a bit of a pain since you have to return to the same location. The only saving grace is that you can take up to 90 days to return the item.

That $12 fee is just especially hard for me to reconcile, since I do shops like this for other companies in the $20-$32 range.

I've done the credit one as well. I do love the ICCDS "quickie" shops!
I did return...got 12.00 for the two visits, easy, but a drive for me, need other shops at that mall to make it worth while...I usually do P/R for $15 to 25.00.

I like them too.

Yes, their fees are low, but their shops are quick, easy, and yes...even fun at times.
Best part? They pay quickly and easily. (via pay pal, from memory).
I have found to wait closer to the end of the month and they start adding bonuses. They were offering $12.00 towards the first of the month and I ended up getting $22.00 towards the end of the month. Which company does gym memberships?
They don't have p/r shops here and since I'm 3,000+ miles from LA there aren't any upscale Beverly Hills kinds of shops in my vicinity. Here they have my very favorite hardware store kind of shop and a new location of it just opened up last week. I met my purchase requirement by buying a chain saw.
