Candle shops...who has them?

Can anyone share what MSC has the candle shops? Thanks!

Sure they can. They just might not want to. No client has been named.

I wish I knew. I have not seen any candle shops. I love candles!
It's not like we didn't already know which client it was. But fair enough. I don't think they pay enough anyway and although I like their candles, I don't like them well enough to bother with these shops. You are welcome to them.
I agree...they don't pay enough, and the reimbursement isn't enough to get any sort of decent sized candle. So I haven't done one since I did one about 5 or 6 years ago.
Good information, not gonna look for those dang northeners smelly shops.

I hate those stores. Get a headache walking by them.

Right around Christmas they have sales like "buy 10 large jar candles for $55" that I take advantage of, can get gifts for the MIL and all the aunts and cousins. So much easier than doing a shop to get a small $5 reimbursement. Bah.
I did one a few years ago. Never again. I remember having to count inventory and remember new scents as well as featured ones. The associate was wonderful but I buy only at this retailer when they hold their fabulous sale. They make great gifts and are an indulgence for me. The measly reimbursement got me 4 small votives. I felt a bit silly as I had to inquire about products that were way, way over what they reimbursed for and that I personally did not need at the moment. Candles lose their scents quickly.
ICU Associates has one chain of candle shops. Never did a candle shop, never will. Why shop for a candle when one can shop for a lightbulb?
If I bought my MIL a light bulb for a present I doubt she would be very appreciative.
I agree. Pay too little

I dunno, JAS. I like the LED light bulbs...they last a LONG time!! And I've never really been a candle person. So...if you have any extra LEDs you'd like to pass off on someone, just let me know...haha!!!
LOL. I don't care about the candles, either. But I would rather have a really expensive vacuum cleaner or a really expensive set of knives, cookware, etc. if someone wants to get me something practical. Or even socks. I got this great pair of very well made cabin socks for Christmas from a friend and I adore them. So comfy and warm! They are probably like $20+ socks but worth it.
I do the candle stores if I happen to be in the area, but don't go out of my way for them. If I can't buy something from the clearance section I get a couple of votives and donate them. One of the organizations I belong to sponsors events that have a small silent auction area. The woman in charge of the auction is always looking for items to add to gift baskets.

I love candles. I bought two recently from BBW. They smell divine but I do prefer the soy candles (cleaner burning). My youngest brought home a fundraiser from this candle company earlier this year. Bought one as a gift and lots of car air fresheners. Yes, Jas, I agree they make great gifts!
Like a lot of mystery shops, depends on your situation. I do frequent restaurant shops for no fee. These are places I love to eat at but dont love the price. When the price for an $85 meal is $0 plus a report for someplace I like, I'm game. When the cost for a nice blouse is $0 plus a report, I'm game. When the cost for a $40 candle on sale for $25 that I want either for me or as a gift for mom, drops to $10 plus a report (that I've done before), I'm game. There are other things to buy vs the candle, votives, car fresheners - which I really love. My point is that I like these shops as long as they are reasonably close. I also like KathyG's idea about donating. Plus they make good basket items when I personally make a gift basket, new baby, wedding, holiday, get well, etc. The ideas are boundless as how to NOT spend MY MONEY smiling smiley

I agree, CureMS, but I think that at least one of your purchases at this candle store has to be a candle. That may have changed, not sure since I haven't done one in the longest time, but I wouldn't mind some of the car or air fresheners if I didn't have to get a candle. Often when the shops pop up they are gone pretty quickly, no time to investigate if there is a decent sale on the jar candles (which when not on sale are very pricey). But Kathy's idea of donating is a noble thing to do as well, agreed. I think my main problem with the candle store shops is that it's hard to get out of there without spending more of MY MONEY than I am making off the shop (reimbursement and fee together), LOL!!!!
I got five car air fresheners for the $5 last time (about two months ago). I took the shop because I had two others (cell phone and restaurant) in the same shopping center with bonuses that made it worth it.
Yes, the few times I have done this shop, I have always purchased air fresheners. The small reimbursement doesn't go far when buying candles and I always need car fresheners.
Thanks for making me sound noble, but I give the merchandise away because that way I don't have to spend my MONEY when they ask for donations :-)

I only do the candle shops when I am route shopping, that way it seems like a better deal.
I love that store. I used to grab them whenever I could, but one day I woke up and decided way too much for the $$ paid...counting hutches and Fragrance of the month...lots of narrative for low pay...I'll just pay for my candles, thank you. Coupon offers are good.
