Coyle Hotel - Flat Rate or Reimbursed?

Hi! I am considering taking a hotel assignment, but in the notes it indicates a $75 payment, and reimbursement for travel. I would not need to travel as it is in my city. The assignment isn't clear on whether the hotel stay is reimbursed. Can anyone weigh in on this? Thanks.

Have you done any shops for Coyle?
Have you ever done a hotel shop?
With Coyle there is usually a fee and the hotel folio gets reimbursed. If you have never done a hotel shop before, this is a big fish to reel in. You might want to start with something less intense like ACL hotel shops. But at any rate, Coyle rarely gives their hotel shops to shoppers who have never done any shops for them at all. Usually you have to do some phone and restaurant shops first.
My point is really that Coyle has no $75 a night hotels.
Also, I know of only one company that doesn't reimburse for the entire hotel.

So, OP, $75 is the fee. The folio could likely be anywhere from $200 to $5000 depending on the property.
Oh, I don't know of any MSCs with $75 a night hotels. And if I did I'd be hitting delete really fast, lol. Ugh, can you imagine? Lumpy, bed bug ridden mattresses...
And if it is a $75 fee (apart from the hotel costs), that is not much considering the work involved.
Unlikely you will ever be assigned a Coyle hotel evaluation unless you have completed many restaurant and high end venues for them ,successfully ,with a high score.
I've applied for many hotel shops. The only ones they assign to me are the call in reservations for $5 and an occasional Apartment shop that is in my area. It's a catch-22. You can't prove yourself until they assign them and they don't assign them until you prove yourself.

If you complete phone shops and apartment shops for Coyle with high scores you should be okay for hotels. If you haven't been assigned then either you are in an area saturated with vetran shoppers or your scores weren't high enough on the other shops.

ACL has some. And with no fee to boot.
I don't stay in $75 a night hotels to begin with. There is no way in hell I would stay at one for reimbursement only shop. It would need a BIG fee.

Thanks! I reached out and they confirmed that the hotel is paid for. This shop actually states that it is an easy shop with manageable narratives, and good for shoppers who are new to doing hotels. Cool, right?
Hmmm can a veteran expand on “manageable narratives” for Coyle?
Coyle hotels are always paid for, most companies reimburse 100% Some reimburse for food, bar or spa, you will learn of this in instructions, before you sing up. I know which shop you are talking about, I have not done it; I have done other hotels for Coyle. If this is your first time, I would apply, no guarantee that you will get it; maybe because you don't need travel money, they may give it to you, I don't know. Like others said, maybe try doing phone call shops or restaurants first, and then try hotels. You seem like you would do a good job. Apply and let them why you want to do it. Good luck!

I have only gotten my score on one evaluation. The rest of the time they just say they are ok to pay and I don't get feedback. Is there someplace else I should be looking? I have tried to find it in their portal.

Sometimes you have to email to get your score. Some editors send automatically, some seem not to... don't know why
There is no such thing as an easy Coyle shop

I did a one night hotel stay last week that required over 30 pictures but not even ONE written paragraph! I was standing on the desk and night stand to get the pictures but not having a single sentence of narrative was pretty awesome. Wish I could have more..

I did a few hotels about 2 years ago that also required tons of photos and only a couple sentences of narrative. I think I did about four and wished I could have had more. Too bad we couldn't use the rewards program for that one.(and it was 2 star hotel not super nice)
