Sentry Marketing

Wow! I've been away from the board for some time - Sentry always makes for the best message threads.

It's good to be back! And it seems like very little has changed.

Cheers & Happy Shopping,
Michael

I'm registered with Sentry Marketing, but I have never found any jobs in my area and so have not done any work for them.

I started with Service Intelligence. Some of their tests are tricky, but by the time I got through the online trainings and certification tests, I was a shopper!

"Evolve thyself and lose all hate...." Orphaned Land
Just an update on this. I have STILL not been paid for the shop I did for them back in July. I sent an email on 10/5 asking when I would receive payment as I was told it would be paid in September... no response to that email and still no payment. Figures. :-(
Big surprise. NOT.

Well, I just received a phone call from Jennifer. She says that the check was indeed mailed out (though they don't show it's been cashed) and that they did respond to my email from 10/5. Surprise, surprise, NEITHER of them managed to make it to me but I don't have issues receiving mail (of either form) from anyone else. According to her they have recut the check and "it's in the mail". We shall see.

She did give me her contact info to reach her if I don't receive the check this time. I think she's either very brave, trusting or foolish to do that. I hope her company doesn't leave her, or me, hanging out there. I'll let you know.
I have been working for Sentry for a long time. I have NEVER---that's NEVER-failed to receive payment for any shop(s) that I have done. I have a friend who also shops for them, and she has never failed to receive payment. Does that mean that mixups, errors, or mistakes never occur? Hardly. Does that mean that the USPS never loses mail? I daresay not. Does that mean the emails never reach their destinations in cyberspace? Only a fool would agree that they always do.

Jennifer is not so much brave as she is efficient and professional. I have had nothing but good experiences working with her. She is responsible and competent. If she tells you the check is recut and sent out, that is the way it is.

I have tried to be nice and professional during this so-called "forum" discussion, but I will deviate from that for this one comment: All of you whiners need to grow up and act like the professionals that you wish to think that you are. Sentry Marketing---or 99% of the other companies out there, for that matter---does a good job and they treat contractors with the same respect and honesty that the contractors show to the company.
Dude, you're either Dave in disguise or one of his loyal capon minions. Your phrasing and speech patterns tell me what your words do not.

I don't think calling people whiners is exactly professional. These boards are suppose to be a place people can come and talk about their issues. I guess I do not see anything in the forum rules stating that we need to act like professionals here. I think we do enough of that all day when doing shops. People here are showing normal human emotions when they feel as if they are getting ripped off. Nobody likes to do a job and not get paid. If we liked that we would go volunteer somewhere. This is a board for shoppers not the companies; so if they do not like our mannerisms here, that is too bad. Nobody is getting violent or out of hand, so I really do not see what the problem is. Frankly, I get tired of having to chase down payments and I am sure other people get sick of it as well.

Forgive my grammar and spelling on the boards. I am off duty.
Just an update... no surprises though. The check has still not arrived and Jennifer is not answering her phone or calling me back. Neither is David of course.

Who is the one not acting professional now?
Went onto their site to try and do some work and noticed they are the only Co. I've run across that actually shows your Soc.Sec.#, I am concerned over this.

Is it a secured site? Even if it is, it's unusual for the SSN to show in its entirety.

Our site is secured with an SSL certificate.

The Social Security Number is a system wide field in Prophet and it is currently not possible to mask the number. For those shoppers concerned about confidentiality, we recommend obtaining a Tax Id number. The TIN can be used in place of a social security number.
So Sentry Marketing can/will respond to the posts about SSN's but ignore my post.phone calls/emails about not being paid. Real nice.
I'm taking it off, really bothers me.

Payment usually comes after about 60 days. Not unusual for prophet companies. I know a couple of others that pay after 60 days.
Prettygul1, I was told by Dave that my payment would be here in September. Then I was told last week that "the check was in the mail" and would definitely be here by last Friday. Still no check yet though.
Well, my check finally arrived today thank goodness. Now we can go our separate ways. Yay!!
zackay they gave me the same story... i no longer work for them... 60-90 days it was more than that i believe... they gave me the same story about the sent check... blah blah...

This shopper's payment was delayed a few days because of an issue with the receipt that was submitted. Ultimately, the shop was paid within 60 days of the assignment date. Our interactions with this shopper were very pleasant.

How do you know who they are? They didn't give much specific info at all.
There are always different ways of narrowing down who may have posted. Sometimes you can determine who it is, other times you can't.
Exactly, sometimes you can't.

They took my SS# off the site, thanks, I appreciate that.

Thanks

David: It has been two weeks, did you send the check already?
Blessings
Thomas

I’ll get another check in the mail tomorrow.

Also, I’d appreciate it if you don’t refer to our payment policy as “idiotic” in the future. It’s disrespectful and we would never treat you that way.
