CORI, shop increases by 12 cents

There is a hardware shop just a couple of blocks away that I usually do for CORI. It seems like nobody else takes it. I have been waiting to see it increase this time. It went from $5 to $5.26, and another bonus today! $5.38! 12 cent increase!

I've always wondered why they pick such odd numbers.

It's a combination of what the current price is, what price that location went for last time and when the deadline of the shop is.
And it's obvious no human being looks at it.

Well, unless they're kind of a moron. smiling smiley

if you usually do it, then the small increases should indicate that it usually
does not go for much. What did you do it for last time?

Well, that's my point. Because it is 3 blocks away, and I can always find something I need, I just take it at its staring price of $5 plus $5 reimbursible allotment. 10 minutes in the store is worth $10 to me. It's an easy shop.

But I am just curious to see the increase in offering inch up if I wait on it. 12 cents is kind of amusing. thanks!
Then definitely the tiny increases are based on a history of it going at the starting rate. For the last several months they have either lost some shoppers in my area or shoppers have stopped taking things early. More and more are jumping up to anywhere from $20 to $35 and those are within the metro area. I'm on my way to one 10 minutes from home at $32 with an $8 reimbursement. A year ago the same shop would have been gone for $8 and $8.

I think technically by you taking it at such a low price, you are doing those tiny raises....sucks, doesn't it?
Don't take it this round. Let it go up to the price that it will take to lure some other shopper to it. Towards the end of the round it will start to skyrocket in price.
See what it goes for... 12, 16 20, 30?
Next round, snag it just before it hits that mark. If you miss a month of 5+5 in order to find out the location's true "value," then the next few rounds you may be getting 12+5 or 18+5 or whatever. You'll recoup your one round loss in one or two months and after that you'll be consistently making 2 or 3 times what you're making on it now.
Oh my goodness! We just had another increase! 13 cents! It is now up to $5.51 on July 20th from its original rate of $5 on July 1st.
let it ride....next increase on the 25th might be high otherwise wont see it jump til the last day of the month

It would be much easier if the fee were listed on the listing of available shops. Any way around having to click on each and every one to see how much they are today?
If you check them daily, you can just check one location per shop-type that you're interested in. If that one has gone up, they've all gone up. If Cori is sending out their emails, you can find all the increases there. Ones not listed are the same they were at their last increase.
If you've not been keeping track, a slight time-saver is to add it to your cart and immediately hit the back-arrow to go back to the board and just keeping clicking into your cart all the ones you want to check. Then just check the cart. It's a lot quicker than waiting for each shop's pop-up and then sometimes having to scroll to the price.
I agree, though, that having the price on the board would be a huge time-saver. (And, Cori, it would make those remote locations obvious to anyone looking at their board. Many of us don't look for the price of something we'd never consider going to, but we might consider going if we saw that high price up front.)

Um..12 cents can't even buy a gum ball anymore..smiling smiley
I like Cori but I can see why somebody would laugh at the 12 cent increase.
Twelve cents may be a minimal increase, but hey, at least it's an increase and not a red-letter "changed fee!" eight dollar reduction like a certain other company is offering this weekend. Could be worse, I suppose.
Wow, huge bonus as of today. It has gone from $5.51 to $7.76. Wondering if I should take it, or keep waiting. Thoughts? This is by far the highest I have ever seen it. This is in addition to a $5 reimbursment.
wait. If no one takes it, the fee will
quickly accelerate.

No guts, no glory.

I wont even start my car for .12, Ill wait.
You'll never know it's true value unless you resolve to not take it this month.
Whoever takes it will effectively be defining its true market value. Next month that shopper will not be allowed to take it again, and it will reach that price faster because it will start out higher. You'll get it for at least what it finally goes for this month.
Let it go.

you got it techman. $8.88 today!
I can't believe someone picked up a recliner chair shop for the minimum of $5.00. I have seen these going for at least $20 every month. There is quite a lot to do on this shop and of course there is no reimbursement in addition to the $5.00. Must be a new shopper who wants to try it out. I hope they learn from this.
Oh yeah, I don't do the recliner shops for less than $25, and most often I have received $30 to $35.
Ok, breaking news! As of this morning it is $10, double the original $5, and no one has taken it. (In addition to $5 reimbursement). I have to work at another job all day today and tomorrow, so will check it on Monday. Just a few days left in the month. Have a great day to anyone who reads this! winking smiley
Glad to hear you're hanging tough!
Keep in mind another quirk of Cori at month's end. The shop you're watching may disappear for a short while after the last day of the month. Check it July 31, and if it's not there on August 1, it will almost certainly reappear later in the day or on August 2 once the client has approved the extension. Once it's back, it may remain for 5-10 days (some clients even longer) into the new month before it just disappears (maybe that's when schedulers get involved.)
The August shop will be on the board at its low-low starting price while the July shop is leftover. When that July shop is finally completed in August, the August shop will go up to its first increased price. Cool thing at this point - that first increase will be bigger than you've ever seen the first increase before, because you've forced up the going price by holding out throughout July.
Congrats so far.
There are 2 treat shops that are from May that I'm still seeing here.
I believe that some of the treat shops are quarterly.
I am not signed up with CORI and thanks to everyone and their wonderful advice, I never will! smiling smiley
None from May, but a couple of treat shops showed up suddenly from June. Must be reshops.
