tax return shops

without naming any of the clients, can anyone tell me a couple of MSCs that offer tax return shops. i've seen them in the past, but i always preferred to do my taxes myself. however, it looks like i'll be owing money this year, so i figure i might as well get paid a shop fee + reimbursement for filing winking smiley

Snuffy, I used to see them at Market Force but not this year in my area. Maybe they have them where you are. The ones I saw required you to be getting a big refund so you could get an advance loan.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
The only ones I have seen require a refund.
Me too, only ones I've seen require a refund.
The one I did required at least a $300 refund. But if that's all you were getting, you probably would have to front the preparation fees. I'm having my prep fees deducted from my refund, but my prep fees were over $700 so if I didn't have a $940 refund due I would have had to cover that and wait to be reimbursed.

I pray it does not occur that the last thing I did before I died was vacuum the house or eat broccoli.
The ones I saw required a $400 refund and you must have a W-2 also.
There are at least two different companies doing them and probably have different requirements.

I came to ask the same re Taxes shops...seems like no MSC is doing them as in the past 3 years or so..
They might be delaying until the mess with the IRS system is straightened out. It's still not possible to efile yet and some returns won't be fileable for four to six weeks.

Just and FYI for people. I e-filed my taxes yesterday, 01/29/2013, and received an notification this morning that the IRS has accepted my return. My tax return was not shop related, but I thought I would let others know that the IRS is officially accepting tax returns at this point.
