Time Share shops

Hi all

I recently signed up for an MSC and received an email yesterday for time share shops in Jan/Feb. There wasn't a lot of information on what is required, other than going to time share presentation and recording it. I've gone to time share presentations for free show tickets in the past, before my mystery shopping ventures. Getting a week at a resort just for listening would be awesome. If there is a downside to this, I figured you fellow shoppers could fill me in on it.

Thanks!
Deb

I have done numerous for that particular msc - there is no downside. They have a phone training which pretty much covers everything. It really is as easy as it looks.

I, too, have requested one. I hope I get it. I've tried in the past to no avail. Fingers crossed.

Have you done the same location more than once, or do you go to a different timeshare each time? I did a timeshare in my area, and they still send me notifications about that shop, but I didn't think I'd be allowed to repeat it.
How often have you tried, Ruby? I can't do Jan/Feb because of my job, but had hoped that perhaps March and beyond would come up. Do they usually come up all year long?
Yes, these shops come up year round.

I tried once for a shop that was for last October. It took awhile for them to pick someone also. Maybe a couple of weeks? I can't remember. But, they said to keep trying. This is the second time I've seen them for this company. I don't know if other companies do time shares. I'll just keep at it. They probably use people who shop for them a lot. I haven't done one for them since Oct.
There are rotations and I cannot do the same city within 12 months, even at a different property. They prefer experienced shoppers and some absolutely requires that you have done one within 12 months. Keep applying and try to get one in, mabye start with one that is not popular - as in remote location instead of Orlando, Florida or Hawaii. I also cannot do January - April, but they come up periodically. So far, I have not figured out their release pattern.

Also, for some of these, the shopper must already have done a particular type of Time Share shop within the last 12 months, so that can complicate the qualifying process.

Like many shops, timeshare shops vary and are offered by other MSCs. They are often checking the hotel services at the timeshare, rather than the presentation itself, but I've evaluated sales presentations for 2 other other companies.

I personally have had my fill of timeshare presentations, despite the reporting being easy, so I'm sticking with the hotel-style ones unless a location comes along that I just can't refuse.
Thanks all, I appreciate the feedback! I'll be excited to try getting one next year. By then I'll have been shopping almost 2 years. Hopefully that will be experienced enough!
I did a recording shop for TNS 5 years ago. Was offered the resort for week, but couldn't do it (my doing). I would do it again. It was fun. $50 for about an hour. High pressure sales on something I would not buy now, knowing what I know
Anyone know if the time share shops are done in Canada, and
Anyone willing to share the MSC doing them?

Thanks
Bena
Bena - read the post above you. I have not seen any posted for Canada and I have been doing them for 3-4 years.
