Fresh and Easy

I totally agree about Sprouts being a larger store and having superior produce than Fresh & Easy. Unfortunately for me, the closest Sprouts to me is about 45 minutes away, while there are many F&E near my home and in areas I usually shop. I don't understand why there aren't Sprouts closer to me. There are quite a few cities nearby that have the right demographics for a successful Sprouts. =(

From what I understand, Sprouts is from AZ and came to CA not too long ago.
They are basically an indoor farmers market with amazing prices for produce and organic chicken. They are 2 miles from my house, and are expanding rapidly, hopefully will be in locations near you (I think). We have many locations in L.A. with 5 being duable for me. I'm going today to buy Wild Salmon on my dime. Hang in there, they are the best.

Fresh and Easy stores are self check outs. You scan your own items and only ask for help if something is not working or you are unsure how to do it. I usually ask about checking out bananas or some other produce items that does not have a bar code. Also you could say that an item did not scan and ask for help. Sometimes they will do it for you or show you how to use the hand scanner for larger items.
