Research Services Group aka RSG

I never could get the site to do anything last night and couldn't stay up half the night knowing my alarm would go off at 5:30 before a full day of work. I've actually had issues with their site all week and intermittent issues with Sassie for a couple of weeks. It has also been happening on two different computers and my phone which means three different operating systems.

I agree with the easy jobs and fast pay, but the scheduler flaked on the recent jobs postings in my state , which only had a three day window to begin with. I had to delete my six applications, knowing I couldn't get them done in the next 48 hours, due to real job. This really upset me because I could have easily worked them into my route today. The same thing happened in October with the S____ shops. There was one left on the board, which was open for six weeks. I scheduled it every time I went through the town, with no response. Even drove by the darn store three times during that period. Then, at the 11th hour, they gave me the shop at a bonus....Go figure!!! Those shops in October were actually paid late because they couldn't keep up with the editing workload. Sounds like they are understaffed. Not feeling really comfortable with this MSC right now. I'll wait it out this time too.
What about the new projects i.e, the credit audit shops. Did 2, have 3 more. How is it going for you? What are you doing for POV?/ Jean shops 100=300$??

I picked up brochures in the stores for POV. For jean shops I pick out the most expensive jeans and then pretend I have several different sizes I need (teenagers, something like that) and a few pairs each etc. I do tons of these credit shops for the other company that has them. I was very surprised to see these pop up here and thought perhaps the whole project was moving but it did not. It does seem like there are some new stores this round though.

Liz Do the brochures only work? In other words, I thought that the guidelines state that you have to have a signature and phone number etc on the brochure for it to be accepted. That would help me out a lot this we if they are accepted, Please get back to me here or PM.
I hope they work - I read it that way and have used them on other shops for RSG. I did my shops Wednesday and haven't heard anything that indicates they don't work. I can't imagine getting a signature of a sales clerk in say a children's store when you are doing a mystery shop! I will look at the guidelines again.

Ok looking at it I think it will be fine - they just don't want a plain piece of paper with a name on it. Heck you can even use a discarded receipt that isn't yours...I can't imagine a brochure from the department you were in wouldn't work...and if it doesn't I will just stick to the other company. Some places its easy to get proof when you aren't required to buy something - other places not so easy.

Did you get your report submitted w/ them? Or was it something else.
Was it a store brochure re product or a brochure talking about credit options? Do not mean to make you uneasy about them accepting them. So far I have managed to get biz cards. But probably not at Kid store.

i did jewelry stores and at one I took home the brochure of the "pandora" like beads so I could see all the prices etc and decide what I wanted smiling smiley. Another was a jewelry store in a department store and I took home a brochure of the holiday jewelry packet. They were on the counter next to the sales person I was talking to and available for all. That is what I would consider an other item to show you were in the store. I prefer not to do pictures especially when you need the store number in the picture??? and a date/time stamp.... a brochure was easier for me and proves I was where I said I was. Very few stores have their numbers plastered on the outside (or at least that I have noticed).

If a clerk handed me the credit card info I would probably use that too but not take that on my own. For the other company today I had several associates give me that info to take home to look at should I change my mind....but that company doesn't require a POV so I just used those for my notes in the car.

This is really helpful. Yeah the jewerly shops, piece of cake. They always want to offer credit and give you a card. What is up with the store # on the pics. That does not happen. I am going with the brochures and argue later. I feel less stressed. THANK YOU. cyn

Happy to help. I really like these shops. They are relatively easy and sometimes you learn something new while you are asking about tires/jewelry/millwork/refrigerators/etc and so forth.

I am wondering if the store "number" might not mean the street number, i.e. 1200 Main Street and a picture with the 1200 on the business location.

There were two MSC's doing basically these same shops in my area. One allowed self-assign and the other did not. I immediately scheduled 6 shops with the self-assign MSC and had them on my schedule. At the same time, RSG came out with their shops and I requested several. Yesterday I finally got notified that I had two, and today they notified me that I had one. The one today is the same location of one I took from the self-assign MSC so I had to email RSG that I couldn't do it as I had another shop there with another MSC for same kind of shop.

I don't know what RSG's problem is because I've gone on the Job Board and the same postings are still in there and they are sending us warnings about having them done by Sunday? They should have had all those shops assigned within 24 hours after they were posted instead the scheduler is taking forever. If she's overloaded they should be giving her some help.
I had clarify that whole store number thing and was told a pic that could verify the location was enough. The other MSC doesn't even require a POV that I recall.

This does sound like a huge project for a small MSC that doesn't allow self-assign. Think how much longer it takes to assign each one individually. The only thing that appeared preferable to RSG having them was having a three day window versus choosing one day. But despite saying there are no reschedules, you can go in to the other site and change the date.

They went through without a hitch early the next morning.

No the other one doesn't require a POV. I did 7 of those yesterday. When the original company started doing them they did not allow reschedules at all and then they switched it up a few times later so you could do one reschedule...I don't think it will let you reschedule more than once though.

I am curious about the overlap on some of those shops. I have only seen a couple of stores that both of the MSCs have; otherwise they seem split or there are new/different ones over at RSG.

Liz
RSG posted first, but I've seen quite a bit of overlap in locations and some overlap in dates. I'm still seeing more locations for the original MSC. It looks like a test.

That is sort of what I thought. I like the form for RSG slightly better but I like the self assign and no POV for the original. I don't mind doing a POV but I could literally get in my car for the original MSC right after the shop yesterday and upload the answers onto my smart phone without the hassle of having to add in a POV. It made the shops go very quickly and then I was done when I got home. I LIKE THAT!

I've gotten paid nearly this fast from them, and usually within a week or two. What's funny is that when they took over a month to pay I got worried! They still paid me faster than most companies.

Someone mentioned this on a thread somewhere and it made sense. The thought was Lisa pays at the conclusion of a project so if it is going for a month she would pay after that. Obviously if you get some of the jobs later, you get paid faster. I work for companies that take longer than a month, but anything less is good in my book.

Love this company, my only complain is that we are responsible for finding out if the location is open. If the location is closed, I've spent unpaid time figuring it out. However, I don't think the responsibility to know that info falls on Lisa, it should fall on the client. That's like me going to a wedding planner, giving her a list of locations to scout, then not paying her for her time she finds out that some of them are closed. Or like me hiring a private investigator to track someone down and not paying them for their "info gathering" time.
A common and totally justified complaint for many clients and MSCs. Our time has value regardless if it is actually completing a mystery shop or cleaning up the client's database. As a matter of fact, I've been paid to clean up outdated information and was surprised to find out companies expect to get that for free these days.

The pay is not as fast as you think for some.
And they depend on the folks shopping to do all their researching for closed locations for free.
I got an email today with a small list of these shops for today only. One of them I had applied to four different times on other email blasts and was at the Mall where the shop was those four different times. I don't think it ever got assigned because it sat in my pending each time until I took it out after the due date for that email. I did other shops for this client and in this Mall - just don't understand why they weren't assigned the first, second, third or fourth time. I wasn't planning on going to the Mall today but got a couple of other offers. I don't think I will apply though.

Liz
I also got one of those. I was there several days ago and it was worthwhile to complete 4 shops and a couple of personal errands. The mall is close to home, but it is not worth the time it would take just to find a parking spot and get to the small store inside. It also appears to be the second shop for the same location and since the store is small, it would not just be for a different department.

I feel the same way. I have a citation from over a year ago and I think that may be affecting me receiving shops. However, I've noticed that I've applied for the same locations at least 3 times, meaning that the people that are requesting it aren't completing it. The ones that I did do for them were submitted within an hour of me doing them on the first day assigned. Today, they sent out an email with three last minute shops that I can do, which I applied for and were assigned to other people, but I'm not going to apply again out of principle. I feel like I went out of my way to prove that I am reliable for these shops by submitting assignments from the parking lot at the mall and if that wasn't good enough then there is nothing that I can do.
