Re:Gapbuster

Anyone getting anything from them in OH? You said you saw some ,Lisa. I am beginning to think that I am not searching correctly. Where on the site can you find out if they accepted your orientation deal?

How do you get in touch with these guys.I have emailed them about some jobs and I get no response.
txguitar, were you ever able to get Hold of CS at GapBuster? I was accepted as a shopper this week and in the introduction e-mail I was provided with a shopper ID but no password (the e-mail was kind of a jumbled mess). I have e-mailed them a few times but I have gotten no response. It's driving me nuts!
Question: I did two shops back in April. Both shops, according to the email I received, would be bonused. Two shops, $68.00. I completed both. I received one payment from GapBuster for $34.00. I have since sent several emails, (5 or 6) and have had no response to any, including from the person who both called and emailed me asking me to accept both the jobs. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Keep sending e-mails. If you are sending them through the site, try also sending them to any contact you had for the jobs. Their communication is slow and it is exacerbated by the time difference. Eventually they do respond and they do make payment issues right.

Okay, thanks Lisa, I might need to give it time. I found that, initially, any email I sent was responded to in a pretty timely manner. The contact person who assigned the jobs to me usually responded the same day. Hence, I am confused as to why no one has gotten back to me. I am willing to wait. In the meantime, I am not accepting any more jobs until this is made right. And I have gotten email offers, funny. Thanks again. I wanted another perspective on this.
If you got an offer that is the perfect opportunity to respond and say how happy you would be to help them with jobs when they help you with your issuewinking smiley

Thanks Lisa, wish I had thought of that! Well, to date, no response to any of my emails. I have the email that clearly states, two jobs, double the fee, total of $68.00. I was paid 34.00. No response to any of my emails.
Yeah I have been trying to reach them for pay issues as well. Since all the emails i got in the past said not to return emails to them at those addresses I have not done anything other than using the 'enquiry' mechanism on the site - I might try looking for the emails I got from specific people though...
Me three...still waiting for pay for two closed locations they are supposedly checking into. It's been since April now.

Yes, they finally got back in touch with me. I guess they are just busy, plus the
different time zone.It does take them awhile to get back to you.But be persistant.
I felt kind of bad when this MSC didn't think I fit whatever demographic they had in mind due to my age but the more I read this thread, the happier I am that they didn't want me.
Has anyone seen shops for Arizona? I have never seen anthing out my way...
I sometimes read the gapbuster threads just for old times sake as they cut me with no apparent reason. Just an email telling me to never darken their doorstep again with no explanation at all and no way to find out. I liked them a lot and worked for them a lot..and came to the conclusion based on reading threads it might have been age related....old people..that is anyone over 40 I guess just do not eat out, do not use cell phones, even dumb ones and today I saw that one of the frozen yogurt shops (not gapbuster) now has a cut off of 65. I better stock up on yogurt before I am too old to buy it!! Pretty soon I will not be allowed to purchase shoes, go to movies, or buy a pair of pants. Thankfully I will still be able to visit funeral homes though. That should be exciting.
Sandy - Wait till your 70 - they you can't have a smartphone, don't know how to use a computer, can't get on the internet - only thing we're good for is the "death panel."
You are funny, plmccut. While I think twice about offering a shop to someone over 70, I have had some great shoppers over 70. I know a lady who is 86 and she makes me exhausted just to hear everything she does.
There are older people who do know all about computers or are trying to learn, all the daytime computer classes at Apple are older people and the classes are always full!! But, I do have to say there are a large number of older adults who don't know anything about computers and trying to teach them on the phone is something I no longer try to do. I wasted too much time trying. Just email for shops and explain if you are able to do shops and the age gets in the way, sometimes exceptions are made.

I, too did some shops for Gapbuster in April. I have emailed many times with no response. Does anyone have a phone number for them? They always answered emails years ago when they had to fast food shop. They block their number when they call, so I can't track the number. I heard that the number does come through in some places. Anyone have the number, they owe me a lot of money and I would like to get paid. Thanks,
I don't have the number and since it is an international call, don't want itsmiling smiley I just keep e-mailing and eventually someone, usually Andrew, responds.

Years ago in another state they had emailed and called me. So I applied, and I too, was rejected....No reason was given..
June, spastyck (joe) sent me a # I can look it up, but not right now. PM me.

JMHO, but I like Gapbuster. I only do one to two shops with them a month, but they pay faithfully, on the 26th, the month after I peform they shops.

My direct deposit was in my checking account this morning!
When I got cut I think they had a turnover of schedulers. The nice schedulers with beautiful accents who were easy and entertaining to speak with and who returned emails, gave big bonuses etc. had been replaced with a no nonsense person. She told me after several months when she called me one time they were on "vacation" which sounded odd as it was a very long vacation and there were at least three of them on this long vacation. Their questionnaire had some poorly constructed questions not well translated into English where a yes or no answer gave the same response. I lived in Japan myself for several years and I am usually pretty good at Japanese English. One of these questions was regarding something like, "wasn't the floor dirty?"
Yes, it wasn't dirty, or no, it wasn't dirty. Or was it yes, I agree it was dirty or No , I don't agree, it was dirty???? They wanted more info on what I thought about the floor. I responded using "reply" and it bounced back. This same scenario happened each time I did that job. I sent emails which bounced and answers to help advising them it was or was not dirty and asking how they would like me to respond if the floor was or was not dirty and sometimes only after a delay got a series of additional email addresses none of which worked. I tried answering from a different computer thinking for some reason my email system did not like their addresses. I sent my answer thru help...no responses other than more non working email addresses and eventually I got cut. They did however pay me for those jobs, each and every one of them where this dirty floor question came up. Unfortunately I am never to darken their doorstep again so even if they get their act together I can never work for them again. It is sad as they used to be one of my favorite companies and it seems like the problems are still happening two years later, although I suspect the former schedulers were spending too much money on bonuses.
I must be in the minority, because I very rarely speak to the schedulers. MF used to call me daily, finally, after never answering, they no longer call me. Yea! Anytime a phone number comes up on my caller Id that isn't anyone I know, it goes straight to my voicemail. If it's important, they'll leave a message, and I will in turn email the MSC, if a response from me is warranted.

I am not a phone person, per se...unless it's one of my gf's, my dh, my sons, or my fam! smiling smiley

Well Ok Lisa but you did not disclaim FBI, CIA or NRA(: Just saying.
I just signed up with Gapbuster, and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong when I am searching for a job - the only states that come up are CA, IL, and FL...??? are those the only locations that Gapbuster is shopping now? TIA for any info! smiling smiley

Not always! I did two shops, promised $68.00 for both, (double fee) still waiting for half of that. Did the shops in April and my many, (at least 10) emails remain unanswered, including the ones directly to the person who emailed and offerred the jobs to me.

Stacy, I am in Southern California too, and got accepted. But I will not do another shop for them. I am owed money and am now counting it a loss. I am peeved for several reasons: I turned down a job because I was asked by Gapbusters more than four times, by phone and email to accept these jobs because they NEEDED someone so badly. I finally said yes, changed my schedule around, used my day off, did a super job, took great pictures and turned in a thorough report. I am at least entitled to a reason for non-payment, at least. There are other companies with these type of shops and I do very well with them.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I did not think about it at the time. I simply ignored the offer. To date my emails or payment issue have not been resolved. I simply do no know what to do and am counting it as a loss and a lesson learned.
I am sorry to hear about your situation MsLynn, I hope you get paid.

Maybe this will help others. I accepted five bonused shops last week from Gapbuster. When they showed up on my job list, only 2 of them had the bonuses. I e-mailed the person who gave me the shops and told her about it. I made sure the bonused amounts showed up on each shop on my job list, BEFORE I completed the shops. If I hadn't done this, I am sure they would have paid the normal amount and I would be chasing my bonuses.
