Cirrus

plus travel time in my case. NO THANKS!!! I am grateful for the Forum. Without it, I would have taken the shop and OMG I don't even want to think about it.

Personally, I wouldn't even do it at $120, though I understand why some would. (There are just too many reports of rejected shops.) When you see shops lingering on the board and/or a fee being substantially increased, there are usually reasons why. I can't remember how long I was in the store for when I (unsuccessfully) attempted the shop, but I think it about four hours, if not more.
Rather than expecting the WHOLE shop to be done at once, they could have broken it in different chunks one or two dept. at a time.

They may reject the whole shop and not pay the shopper. However, I suspect that they take and use the 'good' portions of the massive reports.

You are correct. It does take that long. I've performed two of them. Returning the item also took nearly 25 minutes as I had to wait for everyone ahead of me.
By the time I'm inputting the report my eyes have glazed over after 1 hour. It took me 3 hours to input the first time and nearly 2.5 on the second shop. Although the fee is very appealing I've retired those shops.
Sounds ghastly. I am glad I deleted the app.
Thank goodness for you great folks here, I saved myself of this ghastly experience...Even though I'm fairly new, reasonable intelligence tells me, that if people STOP doing these horrific shops, that it will send the message to pay ALOT larger FEE!!!!

Help me out, learning here...What is a PITA?
I assume it's not a food item! LOL

Yikes! So glad I jumped out before the barge sank! This sounds like a miserable waste of time, energy and eyeballs!

PITA Pain in the tushy.

Glad you deleted the job.

One of the reasons I deleted the shop myself was I ready so many posts about how difficult it was to get the report done successfully...not that it was hard work but that there were so many "traps," for lack of a better word, along the way. I am all for hard work, as long as it is fair, and this shop (and MSC) seemed anything but fair. So...would it be worth doing for more money? Maybe 3x more. But I am not sure.
Well, I will probably NEVER be a Cirrus shopper again, as I had this horrific shop scheduled for last week and had to reschedule it...THEN, got my wits about me, newbie that I am and came here and did some research.
Needless to say, I have cancelled this shop and with a note telling that dear scheduler that this shop is way too intense for the fee they offer!
I surely will be deleted form their active shopper database...Oh well, what's a girl to do. ;>winking smiley

LOL Flash....so true. I have actually done 5 of these but only for $75.00 to $100.00. Shop is tough and the report is worse but the pay is good. It also takes about 3 months to get paid.

none
Before Cirrus had these, a very reputable MSP did them and I took them whenever I could for about $50-$60 AND I WAS A VERY NEW SHOPPER. They paid the following month via PayPal. I sometimes did 3-4 a month if I remember correctly. They took a while in the store, but I enjoyed them and their meatballs. The reports were long, but not overbearing. As time went by more and more departments and requirements were added and I remember mentioning it to the scheduler who totally agreed with me. Shortly after, they switched MSPs. I did one for Cirrus and swore I would never do another. But, as I've said before, it's like childbirth and I forgot and did one more...OMG, note to self...go have a root canal before doing it again. I knew the store well and my routine was to make my purchase, push the cart out one door and right back in to do the return...So was I surprised to not be able to find the usual entrance for the return place. Sometime between my spread out visits, the store was undergoing rennovation and moved the return place across the road. So here I was with this large piece of Lundt, Szec, or whatever it was, and I now had to go across the road to return it. Too far to walk. My option was to put down the roof (luckily I have a ragtop) and put the thing in the back seat. What a PITA, plus the name requirements, plus all the added departments, plus all the narrative, plus the 3 month wait, (I was never paid by them before 3 months). That is a shop that could be fun and profitable, but has become totally screwed up. I feel for any newbie who thinks they've found a great shop, only to leave in the middle of it, or flake on the report when they start it. So glad those considering it recently did their research and ran from it.

Disclosure: I haven't done this shop in a few years now, so things may have changed, but from what I've read here and on Volition, I don't think they have.

When I did it, the store was going under renovation as well. Sales associates were scarce, and not present in all departments. When I sought out (and was able to find) someone to help me find my next department, I embarked on a few wild goose chases -- things had been moved around, and the associates weren't familiar with the layout. At least at the time I did the shop, getting names was imperative, and I had read tales about shops being rejected because of the failure to do so. Most of the associates wore nametags, but some of them were turned around so the name wasn't visible. On others, the writing was too small to read.

Fun.

Thank you Judy...
Yes, I may be a newbie at this, but stupid I aint! LOL...I'm learning to do some research now BEFORE taking on something that looks to good to be true! Higher shop fee, does not always mean a good thing...YIKES on this one!
I was "lowered" in status by Cirrus to 1 for canceling at the last minute. Oh well, can't win em' all!
I wouldn't worry much about it being "lowered" - I haven't seen anything else posted by Cirrus except this job that nobody wants anyway.....
Well, thats good, cause they DID lower me in my profile to a 1!! They are surely ticked they can't get anyone to do these shops!

Oh well, I have enough other things going currently and I don't mind if I lose one company, I have gotton 9's and 10's with all my other shops and companies! Yahoo, not bad for my first 2 weeks!

Have a great evening all...
Just got paid my $60.00 today for a job I did on October 9, 2011. That is 117 days (3 days short of 4 months) and 2 follow-up phone calls to receive my PayPal payment. And yes, I was a newbie when I accepted the job. I spent 6 hours total at the store...I had never been to that brand of store so I had no idea about their layout and their weird way of shopping. And then the lovely report afterwards.

YUCK!!!

Thank goodness I did not do that job! They need to pay triple what they offer, what a joke!

A lesson learned though and now we know ;>winking smiley
Waiting 4 months to be paid, that is just insane!
Definitely the shop from hell. I've done it twice now and I swear on all that is good on this earth that I'm not doing it again. I went through he** getting paid for the first one and the second I did because I was going back to Scandinavia for personal shopping and I got the desperate email earlier that morning. After busting my butt to get the actual shop done (in a whopping 5 hours) I got home well after 10pm. I started getting calls and emails from the schedulers the next day as it was the last day of the month and they were trying to CTA's and make sure they got the info to the client. Is it my fault that I expressed interest in this blasted job 3 days before and the scheduler decided to give it to a habitual flake who (surprise!) had to reschedule at the last minute? Nope. I it my fault that no one wants to touch meatballs with a 10 foot pole? Nope. Don't call me up and rush me when I'm doing you a favor...and then not even fully read my evaluation, thus taking away points that were unnecessary, but given the fact that I am "retiring" from this company as soon as my payment comes through, the effort to dispute just wasn't there. Do yourselves a favor and choose wisely. If you're familiar with the client and you particular location it makes it easier, but if your location is anything like mine...good luck. You'll need patience and a strong sense of self-control to deal with Cirrus and their favorite client. Ugh. Did I mention that the pay w/bonus isn't worth the time it takes to do the shop and the ridiculous evaluation?
I had originally accepted this shop as well but then read the guidelines and decided it is a bit much. They pay is kind of good but the time and minute details are just too much for me.
My one experience with Cirrus Marketing (on a shop different than the one discussed above): I was paid 3 and 1/2 months later ... no thanks!!

I suppose I should start harrassing them for my pay for a shop completed in January. *le sigh*
I did it for $55.00 in February.

It paid for the Xanax prescription I needed after filling out the 18 different interations with 18 different employees.

I got a 9/10 on it from Cirrus; too bad I won't be seeing payment until football season starts....
Hey, it is not as bad as everyone makes it sound. It is a nice outing. I think for me the time it takes me to go there and back is the killing part. Otherwise I find this shop ridiculously EASY! I will do it in a heartbeat.

Folks taking 6 hours to do this shop??????? I am not sure what you are doing there. Max you should take is 2 hours including the nice lunch at the cafe.
