NFL and compliance shops?

Remember the change with NFL and Sunday pass not being on DirecTv anymore? Last year the too many men burger place offered shops going to bars/restaurants to document with photos if they were in compliance.

Foosball is back!!! hoping they do this again. I only did 3 last year, but better to be paid to eat/watch than to have to pay.

Just wondering if anyone has seen them (I have not seen posted yet) or had any "insider" information if these were coming back again. I wonder if @mfisherri would tell us?

My opinion, I would not do even for $100 smiling smiley

Please don't feed the MSF trolls!

Feeding the MSF trolls bread or other human food is detrimental to their health and the environment. It can lead to malnutrition, disease, and behavioral problems in trolls, as well as water pollution and the spread of pests. Trolls are capable of finding their own food sources and don't require human assistance.
Not an NFL fan, huh? I go out for games. Prefer to be out talking smack to all fans

I saw one like this but for a pay per view fight. It was with the place for smart shoppers. I wasn't interested enough to read the details, I just recall seeing it and chuckling to myself about how I would NOT blend in at the places they wanted checked.
yes, the PPV is a different project with a different company. I was specifically hoping for NFL since that is a much larger audience and there were quite a few locations being checked on.

Some of the PPV are heavily skewed towards a particular demographic and if you don't fit that...you will be welcome like ICE in Los Angeles
Whoa. I didn't know this shop existed. I spend more than a few Sundays per NFL season at sports bars, so I'm in.

My son did one of those jobs last year. I wanted to, but I don't go to bars without an escort. I love watching football with football fans. My son is NOT a football fan, and I won't go into a bar with him either.
I did a few and will do some this year too if they have them. Some places only had a few TVs. I mostly did the TXR locations and the TXR fast casual spin off called Jaggers. Jaggers only has 1-2 televisions and no bar.
I made the mistake last year of picking one up at my husands favorite sports bar, not thinking about the number of televisions. HE had a great time! The food was also delicious. The counting and tracking of the games would make your head spin. At least I had good company!

What did you have to do for successful completion of the shop?

You go during a particular timeframe when certain NFL games are on (there is a list provided and the time frames—ie 1:30-4:30 pm EST Ravens vs Bengals, etc..) There will be multiple games going on during that time. Count the number of televisions in the restaurant and then how many of each game is on each TV. There is also certain signage to look for. From my recollection there was a food reimbursement and shop pay that totaled $30 at minimum. There is clearly a lot more work involved in a Drakes location as compared to a TXR. More TVs = more work. I believe they also wanted an exterior photo.

Thanks. Sounds like something I'd enjoy, but not sure it's available in my area. I'd never heard of Drake's and TXR before I read your post.

Any hints as to the MSC that had them last year?
Same as the band of brothers burger joint.

There were a ton listed in my city. Some were carry out pizza places and some huge bar and grills. Choose wisely if they reappear this year.

There was no required food purchase. That was optional. I guess if you just wanted to do a bunch for $10 each you would do them as quickly as possible. That was not my MO. I would go and watch the games. The afternoon games on the west coast (1pm PST).

Like @gigishopper said, you don't want to pick a true sports bar like BWW or any other place with a crapload of TVs. I did a BJ's brewhouse and it had like 20 tvs. That was bad enough. I couldn't imagine a BWW.

It was always a SUNDAY since they were looking for former DirecTv people who had sunday ticket packages and if they were in compliance with the new provider since DirecTv lost that contract with the NFL.

I believe the opening rate was $10 pay and $20 food. I did see some places get to $20 pay. But many of those were ethnic places where it would be obvious why I was there especially when they notice me taking pictures of the televisions and they are bootlegging the stream.

Every once in a while I see a Craigslist gigs post in which they're looking for someone to go to bars in Miami and take pics of South American soccer games on the televisions. I thought the pay was fairly good until I realized there was a 99% chance I'd wind up maimed and with my cellphone lodged up my @ss.

You've never heard of Texas Roadhouse? I know there are Drake's restaurants around here somewhere, I've seen them but never been inside. From reading your posts I got the impression that you might be shopping a similar area. I'm in N. AL, I wander into South Central TN and Western GA for short routes also, but not often.
It sounds like we wander throughout the same area. I am in KY and travel through TN and GA often to visit family. Occasionally, I ride through Alabama!

Drakes is a great spot to watch a game. I don't think I will ever complete an NFL compliance shop in one again unless I draw out a map of the place first. At one point, I almost gave up. My report may or may not have been my best educated guess.

Thought it stood for something else. I'm forgetting that it's not only sports bars being shopped, and I wasn't thinking Texas Roadhouse as I haven't been there in decades.

I'm in South Florida. I lived in the Atlanta area from 2002-2014, on the east side of the metro area. I rarely went to Alabama. My housemate there is from Huntsville. He tells me it's beautiful up there.

I'm a big sports fan. When I lived in Atlanta I'd often go to Taco Mac (big local sports bar chain) or another, smaller local chain called Barnacles.

Maybe the next time the 49ers come to Hotlanta or Jacksonville we can go watch the game.. I haven't been to a football game since they tore down Candlestick Park.
