I will take Costco gas anytime. It is the only one of those big box stores in my immediate area and happens to be 5 blocks from my house. Checking gas buddy it is always the cheapest gas around and I get 5% back using my costco credit card. But my area is expensive for gas. The Costco Business center about 7 miles away has gas 30 c to 40 c a gallon less than my local costco. So I pick up a mystery shop in that direction once in a while and go fill my tank there. Last time I went there were 2 cars ahead of me on a line with 3 pumps. Not much of a wait at all.
I find most of what they have is of great quality and they have a generous return policy if it is not. I cannot compare it to the other big warehouse stores but even with a big sale at the reg grocers on one item everything else is so much more expensive there that it is hardly worth my time to run over for just that one item when it is usually only a few pennies more at Costco than the sale price at Vons (Safeway) or Ralphs (Kroger).

Ok, you're a price checking shopper. When was the last time you checked your oil level Sandy? smiling smiley
HB, certain men will not dare ask you as you are a man. LOL but SMH.

i have a Tesla. I don't check oil. I trained my daughter how to check the oil in the 2000 Honda CRV she drives.

This is for people who believe EVs don't require oil and filter changes...
Engine oil and gearbox oil are not the same thing. same with the air filter. yes, tesla has multiple "air" filters that need to be changed every so often (carbon/hepa and the cabin filter).

Tesla's gearbox (drive unit) does require fluid changes, despite not having a traditional combustion engine. For older models like the Model S and X (pre-2021), Tesla recommends changing the gearbox oil every 100,000 miles, according to Quora. Newer models like the Model 3 and Y, and others with gearbox oil filters, may only need the fluid changed every other year, or every 100,000 miles or 6 years, whichever comes first, according to carrepairsservice.com. Some experts even recommend changing the gearbox oil on all Tesla models every 50,000 miles.

I do ALL gearboxes at 30-50k miles; including differentials, steering gearboxes, manual transmissions, 4WD transfer cases, etc.

We haven't even discussed coolant in all those little battery passages with seams, o-rings, hoses, etc. that could leak. More places that are possible failure points than an ICE engine, many of which are inaccessable.

Let us know when a Tesla, or any EV, makes it to 352k miles and 23 yrs old like our truck.
Considering Tesla hasn't really be in mass production mode until July 2017 when it made the model 3, I guess you will need to check the forum in July 2040 at the 23 year mark.

I never claimed Tesla would be the longest lasting car. I believe my 2000 honda crv will probably outlast my 2021 tesla Y performance.

even if it costs me more $, i would rather drive with nicer, newer technology features than something that is 10+ years old.

i have the $ to be able to "waste" on nicer things. I did not choose the most economical path or i would have stayed with my 2013 prius.

Here's a breakdown of the notable mileage achievements:

Tesla Model S: 1.2 million+ miles (Hansjörg von Gemmingen-Hornberg's car).
Tesla Model 3: Over 300,000 miles (multiple reports).
Tesla Model Y: Over 211,000 miles (highest reported).
It would have beenhelpful if the OP specificed if they were asking about BJ Brewhouse or BJ Warehose stores.

I've seen emails offering the warehose stores recently but there's no brewhouses near me.
Seems there is a testosterone battle of who is the smartest going on here...give it a break you two..

Yep, heard it all before. You do you. We all make our own choices. That's why there are more flavors than just chocolate and vanilla. At least we get to choose now, as opposed to having EVs shoved down our throats by the previous administration.

If GM produces a revised Bolt with limited features, LiFePo battery, and modest range for under $25k I'd join the glorified EV golf car membership too.

I'm not against EVs, just a realistic driver who understands ROI.

And I'm sure you don't believe CO2 is a global climate change issue. For if you do, you better stop exhaling.

Agreed. I have both nearby and have recently completed the Brewhouse shops. Oddly, I applied for the warehouse ones a few times and never got accepted, yet the shops just sat there unassigned. Oh well.
@maverick1

Sometimes in life you splurge. This was my midlife crisis. I did not go find a younger wife. I chose to go and do something that was cool and unique in late 2017 before the masses climbed on the tesla bandwagon.

i had driven that Honda CRV for 18 years (and still have it) and i was very wise with my money. December 2017 rolls around and the 7500 fed and 2500 CA state incentives and i was getting a state of art vehicle for basically 40k. It wasn't about ROI for me. In 2021 I had enough of a positive experience i upgraded to a performance Y instead the model 3 I had.

I won't buy another electric vehicle until i see "true" range go above 500 miles. Stated range and True range are 2 different things. I can drive wifey's toyota highlander hybrid for 450 miles. I should be able to drive an electric vehicle that far or farther.

I'm still very happy with my Tesla and will drive it into the ground, but I am not about to buy another eleciric car until major improvements are made.
Sorry been busy all weekend getting a used bolt EV before the used EV credit is gone.

I am referring to the BJ brewhouse.

And for the off topic part.....the only thing I really care is what makes sense for your wallet. I am a family of 3 with 4 cars. 2 gasoline and 2 Electric. For the 2 gasoline 1 of it is a 2008 rav4 that has been running good and now serve as a backup car in case anything happened, another one is a 2022 maverick, a small pickup that replaced the rav4, a family car and daily driver for my dad. I currently drive a equinox EV, which replaced my bolt EUV and the only reason I did that was because it was a free upgrade after all the incentive and trade in kicks in, and the reason I got the bolt EUV was because during COVID that was the only car that I can get without markup, and the $7500 tax credit make it a steal, and my previous car, a Forester was having serious issues with its head gasket and not worth fixing comparing to the car value.

Lastly the 4th car is the 2020 bolt ev, that we just acquired....and the reason we are getting it is once again, mostly due to the incentives between the fed and local utility company, allowing me to snag a 5 years old car with 40k miles for $6000. To me that is quite a steal, and it will be a commute car for my mum, a pure city only car, and will be extending to be her retirement car. Even if the battery hold only like half the juicy after 15 years it's still worth it as wedo home charging, and by then it will be a grocery/backup car at that point. $6000 for a car that will be run to the ground? Not too shabby.
