Crash Champions

I'm seeing several of these shops that have MAO's to make appointments and visit an auto body shop.
Has anyone done any of these shops, and how was your experience?

Not yet. It's in that category of I would but the pay is too low to drive an hour for just that.
I want to do some of these shops as I have damage sustained from a road rage incident (some other dude raging, not me) and I want to take advantage of it.

The shops are going for $17 in my area, and all have a 'Make An Offer' option. I was turned down at $30 and $27. Seems like no one else is taking them at $17 either. That's cool. They can sit there for a while as I do other stuff.

Ok, I found something else that lands me near a location so I made an offer and mine was accepted. I learned that you can only perform one of these shops so forget about hopping site to site and knocking out bonused multiples. The location that works for me only had the option for online booking but the questionnaire looks to be the same for all scenarios. It doesn't look difficult at all except for covert pics.
I qualified, and my offer was accepted.

My guidelines only mentioned booking via the website, and it was way easy.

My repair would seem to be pretty straightforward (rear taillight assembly), though there's plenty of other stuff I'm sure they'd be happy to pitch me on :-D

Hopefully I won't be onsite for too long.

I picked up one for $25 to make an appointment by phone. Definitely worth it as the questionnaire was very short. It's a shame you're only allowed to do one of these.
Does anyone know if a door ding qualifies as enough damage?

Also, it says you will not get your vehicle repaired. What if you want to get it repaired by them? Is that not allowed, or is the MSC just letting you know you won't get reimbursed for the repair?

Any damage is enough. The shop is just you getting an estimate. If you want to get work done afterward, you absolutely can but it isn't part of the activity and they won't reimburse.
I did one at a local shop.

Super easy, with very little time/effort involved. Most interestingly, their quote was significantly lower than the one I had previously received from my normal shop when the damage happened (busted tail light assembly).

They got some 'splainin' to do the next time I need some work done.

I picked one up on June 5 and tried to fill out the form. I filled it out but the form would not save. I tried multiple times to send the report in unsuccessfully. I then sent an email to the MSC about the troubles but got crickets in return. I have written this effort off. The estimate given was over $5000. I got another estimate for $3800 and the other drivers insurance agreed to cover $3100.

I've had similar form issues with other MSCs and found that logging out, doing a restart on my device, and logging back in usually resolved it. Sometimes it is on their side and waiting an hour to try again works because they got whatever it was going again.
I tried over a couple of days. Thanks for the hint.
I did one yesterday for $35. Easy shop. I was so impressed with the location I'll probably have them do the work in a week or two!
I got an estimate for almost $8,000. My car got hit a few times, but not that much.

A tractor trailer said he "didn't see me." (Side of the car)

A guy in his work van fell asleep and hit me. (Back of the car)

We went to a science museum in Philly. Someone hit my car while we were parked on the street.

I'm not going to fix any of the above since my 2017 car has 379k miles. Fixing it is more than the car is worth.

Makes me wonder if Crash Champions uses the MSC as purely an advertising method.

Well, it might work on me, eventually. My girlfriend works for a large local body shop chain, so I'm hoping I can get a deal when I have some $$$ to address my Subaru's annoying body issues.

I confronted my auto shop about the huge discrepancy and was told that mechanics pay a much higher price for body parts because they don't do the volume that body shops do, so they are off the hook :-D

Hubby's 20 year old SUV has a huge scratch on one side. Not worth fixing, but I know it would be perfect for this shop. But to schlep out to Crash Champions, maybe for a big bonus. But I haven't seen a big enough bonus yet.
Thanks for the feedback on this shop! I was able to complete more than one of these.

For me, with one of the shops, there was some back-and-forth with MAO, but no rejections smiling smiley

The shops also helped confirm not to get certain things repaired smiling smiley

Please don't feed the MSF trolls!

Feeding the MSF trolls bread or other human food is detrimental to their health and the environment. It can lead to malnutrition, disease, and behavioral problems in trolls, as well as water pollution and the spread of pests. Trolls are capable of finding their own food sources and don't require human assistance.
