You know how quickly the jobs fly off the boards? The more people make this info readily available on a public forum, the more quickly the jobs will disappear.

I recommend that you make a hypothesis and test it. And then keep it to yourself as your professional advantage.
thanks olympia, I didn't say anything because I probably would have been rude.
Oh geez My apologies for offending all of you Kroger desperate shoppers wishing to cut out competition. Thought this was a forum of shoppers not cut throat people. Every day when shops are posted within minutes someone says just posted. So I thought nothing of asking this. If you are so afraid of competition perhaps stop posting notices as soon as postings are made.

I’d be happy for that too!

You jump to a lot of conclusions that some of us are desperate or cut throat. It is a competitive field and some of us live in densely populated areas.

The best advice I can give anyone is to keep excellent notes, actually make hypotheses and act on them, and read here voraciously. Hopefully between those behaviors, you’ll be able to develop some of your own advantages.

I regularly create "Kroger Posted" threads to be nice to my fellow shoppers on this forum but I will not announce beforehand when the shops will be posted. Many shoppers worked to get that information and are not obligated to share.

Your sense of entitlement and rudeness is sickening.

Oldman James--For what it is worth, my opinion is that Olympia's post was concise, candid and cordial. He/she understands this is business. While competition does not bother me, I am very part time, age 81 and financially comfortable, some folks on this board depend upon the money and/or groceries they earn to survive. Please do not feel insulted or disappointed.
It took me a couple months to figure it out, but I did. I keep a list of all the dates posted and put a phone reminder so I don't forget.

Next Wednesday March 27, between 10:30 am and Noon Pacific Time.

You're welcome. smiling smiley

I'm not gate keeping $9 shops. It's not some special secret. The scheduler will tell you if you ask her. (That is my educated guess. I'm not going to text her this late at night.)

Thank you Bay. Nice polite reply. Writing to scheduler for anything results in no reply. So appreciate any information from this site.
There will come a time when every attempt you make will result in a "someone already got assigned this shop." Then we will see how readily people share this information.
It seems as though many here do not view this as an actual business, meaning they make every attempt to turn a profit. Sharing this type of information will definitely result in a lower profit. You never know if someone seeing it is your direct competition. If you don't view this as a business I hope you don't take business deductions on your taxes...........
Some of the same people (not all) jumping on @OldmanJames are some of the same ones I have seen openly discuss this topic and when these shops should be posted - or when they were not posted as has been the case.

I agree in not giving out information you've worked to gather. I've thought that in the past. I don't agree with the hypocrisy.

Same chicks who vow they never take shops until the shops are heavily bonused. 9 plus 9 and they sell their souls.

oh no, you found out my secret.. whatever will I do. I do grocery shops to eat, and I do all other shops for profit, because the utility companies won't take groceries as payment. That is it, as simply as I can put it.
Seems like you have found a business plan that works for you.
NM1962 comments--Seems like you have found a business plan that works for you.

Bob opines--NM has "hit the nail on the head." After 3+ yrs. attempting to be successful as a full timer, I accepted my failure, devised a plan as a part timer and have succeeded. Without my plan, I would have departed this business at the end of 2006.

I strongly suggest the plan NOT be mental. Detail it in writing and place the paper where it can be easily read. Even if it is as simple as having an immediate need and therefore accepting all work. There is no reason a plan can not be altered in the future when that situation no longer exists.

I have three categories in which shops must fit, at least one, or I pass.
I just don't understand why everyone wants these jobs .9.00 plus 9.00 is not that great for everything involved.I would actually rather go in and fill the pay cards then do a shop. Now the gas station jobs are a whole other ballgame when they are close by I'll jump on those.
Carolforreal is mystified--I just don't understand why everyone wants these jobs .9.00 plus 9.00 is not that great for everything involved.

Bob replies--I know you were not using EVERYONE in a literal sense; I do agree the $9+$9 is not great. In my situation, the Kroger shops meet the conditions I have set for category 3; they permit me to defray travel expenses. Once a month, I visit six wholesalers to restock my store. All are from four doors down to 1 1/2 mile from a Kroger. In addition, the stores in my area have a reduced produce table where the prices are from lower to basement level. Finally, by being a stock up person, I am able to purchase desirable food at considerably lower prices. I almost always buy when the price is right, as opposed to when I have a need or desire. The only exception that comes to my mind is milk.

I completed a Kroger yesterday, that included a $10 bonus, in a small town I was driving through. My three items were price reduced imitation crab, price reduced oranges & apples and sale priced mixed nuts. It is simply a matter of playing the game. Kroger wins when shoppers do not and Bob wins when he is concerned with Bob's interests.
Kroger works for me as I purchase things that pretty much never go on sale that my family really likes. I do not have a full time 'regular' job and my income is not responsible for paying the mortgage. My time, therefore does not have a dollar amount assigned with it. I do not go out of my way for these shops, but will happily trade 30 minutes (including report) for $9 cash and $9 worth of A1, slime licker candy, individually packaged salads, Prime drinks, etc.

These items make my kids happy, and that is payment enough.

The Kroger (non-competitor) locations I usually shopped were bonused. Before the baby formula project ended, one of my PO boxes was two doors down from the $23 Kroger location, and another PO box was less than 10 minutes away from the $15 Kroger location. These two locations also had no meat/seafood cases or Murray's Cheese displays. It made sense to do those shops.

Now that I no longer have to check PO boxes every month, it would make sense for me to shop those Kroger locations only if I have other shops nearby or if I need to satisfy the 1-to-1 ratio for competitor pickup shops.

There were three $9 competitor (FoodMaxx) in-store shops that I used to shop. All three were near some of my PO boxes. Now that I no longer need to check PO boxes, I will probably continue to do the FoodMaxx shops only to satisfy the 1-to-1 ratio or if I want to buy something there anyway.
I do the $9+$9 in store shops because they are a condition of, or near the $30 10-minute pickup shops. There are enough stores in my area that I can do a little route so make back gas money from the fee and pick up some markdowns at the instores. E.g. Day 1 Pickup Store A,+ Instore Store B. Another day, Instore A and Pickup Store B. I sometimes go farther away, because there is something else in that direction, and can get a grab n go lunch at the in-store shop, adding a pickup stop on the way home. After you've done enough of these, they are mindless and no narratives.
Sigh--there are few Kroger or competitor stores near me and they fly off the board once posted.
There are 100's of Kroger shops in my area and they fly off the board very quickly.
I hope you weren't waiting until 10:30 for the job postings today.....
