Sonic shop closed- editor says it’s not closed

I did a Sonic shop the other day which was closed when I arrived during their normal operating hours. I took the photo from the street and photos of the darkened location. Weirdly, the building sign and a few menu boards were lit. The editor rejected the shop stating that it was not closed, as the building sign was on as well as a few menu boards. They said I should have pushed the button. I messaged the editor back and stated that I did press the button at a lit menu board, but received no response. I took additional photos around the building, called the nearest Sonic location and verified the permanent closure as well as the date of closure. I also provided this to the editor along with the contact phone number to the restaurant. I even used the contact/help button to see if I could get a review of the decision from the MSC. They too insisted that it is not closed. Today I provided additional photos to include the vacant building. The disassembled street sign and signage indicating they are permanently closed. I’ve received no response from the editor or the help/contact support. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone…. What do you mean this location is not closed???

Anyone have any suggestions about who else I can contact to have this reviewed? I realize I’ll probably get $1. That’s not the point. The point is my report was rejected, and the editor is not correct in their assumptions or decision. Any help would be appreciated.

With the former mystery shopping company, who had the Sonic account for over 10 years, there were no such silly issues. At least that was my experience. I'm sorry you are going through this. These editors really do question the shopper's integrity.

I feel like the help button goes into the bermuda triangle. And I really hate how these editors like to tell us things they have no clue about. They should have to do some of these jobs before they can become editors. SIGH. You are correct, you may only get $1. Did the job repost? Just apply again, send in the same pics. Although an apology would feel so much better.
There are still several shops for that location posted. It’s not worth the effort to redo the shop.

Speaking of shops reposting after rejection… I did have one gas shop rejected out in the boonies. It never reposted and when I went into that store a couple weeks later, the guy remembered me when I came in. He immediately said “Hey, you gave us a bad report.” He said it in a joking manner, but it led me to believe they had received my rejected report, since it never reposted on the board. Curious.
Well, it’s now been accepted and I will receive half pay. I feel better.
Glad you'll be getting half pay but you shouldn't have had to put in so much extra work just to get that pay. Shame on that editor.

-says in my best order-taker voice- Would you like an apology with that?

Because I'd be damn surprised if you got one.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown

I often have other shoppers' reports attributed to me. I think there may be delays where the last report they see isn't always from the latest inspection.

Is there any chance you missed the repost? There can be delays in reports being received by the station owner as the report first goes to their fuel supplier/jobber before going to the owner. There is also a chance that particular location was shopped for another program. For example, I do Circle K and E/M shops for the same location. If it were a situation like that, the owner may have confused the two programs. I have done plenty of redo gas audits after other shoppers messed up. Rejected reports are not used. They are rejected because the client will not pay for them. The shopping company is not going to give them the reports for free.

I had a Sonic that was closed but due to a water issue. They had a sign at the entrance it was closed. I attached a picture to the report. I did receive 1/2 of the fee.
I had an editor tell me a store was not closed. I told her I had just gotten back from there, and it was , in fact, not just closed, but stripped of fixtures with a "For Lease" sign on the window. I even sent her a picture.
That could be. I told them it wasn't my report.
I had an editor tell me a location was not closed, even though the reader board said they were closed and their phone was disconnected.
check the site like Yelp. They will also have store closing listed. I also check the local paper for such shops. They certanly have some article about location closed.

I think there may be one editor who thinks Google Street View is a live image.
