To each his own. I don't get into the "I'm insulted" thing -- heck, in business, during price negotiation I laugh when people say "I'm insulted". Again - speaking just for myself: They give me an optional survey to take for free. It's my choice to not do it. They can't force me to do it - President Lincoln and and a few others made that illegal.
Of course, if someone wanted to make this a cause - - well, you'd need 100+ people to email XYC company and say ..... "you are paying XYZ MSC for data. We're all gonna answer the survey and lie our butts off...you're paying for bogus info".....well, that might help change things but personally I'd rather watch my 80's shows and pretend I'm still living in a sane world and silently ask people to get off my lawn.
Now, if someone shouted at me "Man look at you. You didn't lay off the McDonalds, you sucked at sports, you are sporting a b-Cup and the only reason you have 2 kids is because you turned the lights off".....I'd say that was an insult, after which I'd have to sadly admit to myself that the guy was right. Oh man now I insulted myself.
