5 Guys raising reimbursement

I see that the reimbursement rate is still $15.45 until the 23rd of April and goes up to $17.25 starting with shops scheduled for the 27th of April and after. Wish they would raise it sooner.

Yeah this is a good thing. I had an online app shop and the smallest thing I could get wasn't even covering it.
I imagine 5g will also raise their prices later in April and we will be right back to where we were before :-P
Thanks for mentioning this. I had my first shop as a pickup order. Was genuinley surprised how expensive the fast food meal was. Even when ordering a "little" cheeseburger, "little" fries and a drink was at least aeound $3.50 over. I could order a "little hamburger" but I love cheese. When I saw the guidelines stating to request a "little" to stay in reimbursement I had to roll my eyes.

I picked up the shop because it paired perfectly with my movie shop. As they were in the same plaza and I was able to enjoy a meal while watching the movie.
Yes, it's about time. While the guidelines say they prefer us to order a burger, they've been getting grilled cheese sandwiches from me. UP the reimbursement and I'll order a burger.
Only hoping this is a trend in mystery shopping. For the few shops I do I am now over reimbursement on post office shops that require far away zones, Whole Foods where prices have risen and the reimbursement now does not cover my min order, other restaurant shops I did where I could only spend within reimbursement when buying specials that no longer exist on their menus etc., I am sure everyone has a list. So trend YES I hope so.

Looks like they have now gone and raised the reimbursement for the remaining open shops. Surprisingly, they even raised the reimbursement on the shop I had already claimed for this week.

Yes, got one for this weekend with the new $17.25 reimburse.
So the delivery shops are now reimbursed over the $15 before tax minimum order mark.

Is the new limit for delivery shops $17.25 like the dine-in shops? Dont see any delivery shops in my area to check.

Nope, I see one still listed at $15 for the food and $15 for delivery/fees/tip. They desperately need to raise this one, since the delivery companies charge even more than regular Five Guys prices.
I think this is a nice gesture - but I also think for shoppers it will be a break-even, or a small improvement in specific cases. I think the reimbursement going up gets rid of the "I'm not getting reimbursed for the full expense" objection. This means - shoppers who were NOT doing FG....will now do them. If more people do a shop - - does that mean less shops languish and therefore get bonused?

I think this was also good for the MSC - they or FG will pay $2 more. BUT they might have to bonus less shops, and therefore they might be scrambling less at the end of the deadline to get shoppers.

Also notable - some delivery shops - the food reimbursement shows $20 now.....
The last two times they raised the reimbursement amount, I got fully reimbursed for about 2 or 3 months at every location. Then the prices started going up. I would bet that by mid-summer, many of us will be back to not being fully reimbursed for even a small burger at some locations.

I have no way of knowing. On one hand - Americans - are consumers. Americans - pay. So who knows, a price increase maybe coming. Dichotomy is - things like raw materials and foods - inflation is peaking, even reducing a bit. Labor costs? Not sure that is happening so it's possible they'll bump prices but I'm not sure how much more they can get away with. On Facebook for instance - every time they post - - there's tons of people making comments about cost. Not siding with them, just reporting what I see.

On the flip side. - there's many consumers who secretly WANT a "burger and fries" no matter how fashionable the Luke-warm kale-farm-to-fork food is. Five Guys - like ShakeShack and others - let them eat a burger, without feeling like they are at *gasp* at McDonald's.

Will be interesting to see - -but 1 year worth of interest hikes - are now going to start effecting the economy. Also, credit might tighten up which also will effect the economy. I'm not sure - does that mean some people trade-down from FG to McD/BK....and therefore FG can't raise prices?
I don't see any shops with a required shake purchase posted yet. I am hoping they raise the reimbursment for shakes as well, as it is rare that I can buy one for under $6 these days.

@tigerdave, I saw a 5 Guys shop with a shake and unfortunately, the shake reimbursement did not go up. In my area the shakes are $6.69 + Southern California taxes on top of that.

Forgot to add, I did a shop today and there's a new question toward the end, just check the applicable radio button. No comment needed.

Still not enough but its better!. Kudos!.
I did one yesterday (3/31) with the $17.25 rate in effect.

I asked a General Manager about the constant price increases. She said prices increase every 3 months.

I did a FG yesterday. I was amazed at the number of people actually paying the inflated prices for what FG offers! I was able to get food with a few cents to spare. Amazing how people can afford a lunch with 2 or 3 kids. Food is ok but not worth what they charge.
I treated myself to a little bacon burger bowl and it was only 12 cents over before taxes ($1.16 after) so not too bad. I was getting hotdogs at the most expensive spots to keep costs down but still going over by at least that. I wish they just gave you ordering parameters and then paid for what you bought.

Amazing when you read that 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. I see cars lined up every day at drive-thrus that aren't cheap.
Funny story. I had a 5G delivery shop recently. Wasn't paying attention and ordered the largest burger with 2 meat patties. Boy, was it good!
My last three shops have been at the new reimbursement. Unfortunately, one required a shake, and, as noted, the reimbursement hasn't gone up for those, so you're still out of pocket for a shake.

I got a hot dog yesterday, small fries, and drink and was almost $2 under reimbursement. First time that's happened in awhile! I usually get a little burger, but just had one the other day for a shop, so wanted something different.

Hard-to-fill locations here are finally showing up with MAO, but that's been really scarce for awhile.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
There are plenty of other restaurant shops that will reimburse me for what I want to get and not the minimum that can be purchased. I feel like they are using the shop to get additional business when they have such a low reimbursement. I've done one of these. I will not do another until they get realistic with their reimbursement and pay.
I understand that people want the reimburse higher. It doesn't bother me to go over a couple of dollars when I'm only taking a shop with a fee of $25 or more. I don't touch for less than $25.

I would rather get what i want and spend $20 (going over by $5 or less) than to get something i do NOT want just to stay within reimbursement.

I do not know of any other fast casual shop that regularly bonuses to $25-$50 for a location.

I'm wondering if all the people wanting the higher reimburse are the base-fee shoppers at $10? That would make sense to me.

I regularly get $24 to $30 for 5G shops, and I still expect the reimbursement to cover the requirements. Any MSC should make sure the reimbursement covers the required purchases. So now it covers the meal, but not the shake. A shopper will be out of pocket on the shake when required. For me, I still have to travel, spend gas money, spend time in-restaurant (if I'm at a place not local to me, I eat the online orders in the restaurant instead of taking out), spend time reviewing the guidelines & CPI, and fill out the report. I do some shops that appear to be very hard to fill, but are anywhere from 15 miles to 25 miles away (plus some local ones). I count all of that against the fee, so that fee is what I need in order to do the shop, without going out of pocket. Factoring in all my time, I'm probably not making what my minimum is, but I like the food so am willing to take a bit of a hit.
