Luxury goods purchase & return shops?

Have one assigned for today. This is the phone order and return shop. I didn't want one at base fee, but they upped the fee and then put a bonus on, so I took one.

I've done a lot of purchase and return shops, mostly online, but the fees rarely covered the amount of time involved. This one looks like it's basically the same (place the order, take pics of the merchandise when it arrives, arrange for a return and take pics before you send it back, finish the report). But you have to have a phone "consultation" when you order.

I think if you review the brand's products that fall into your scenario and know what you would really want if you were keeping the item (so know what questions you'd actually ask), this shouldn't be too bad. If anyone's done this shop, any feedback is appreciated!

I've just done a shop on Saturday, I think it's the same brand. It's pretty easy - the item purchased has a delivery delay of 21-60 days, so you have to be able to keep that amount on your credit card until you receive the item and return it. Besides that, it's a phone shop really so you're at home and the call took 13 minutes total. Easy shop, I loved it. Now waiting for the item. I have done many similar shops for this company, they're pretty simple and offer a decent fee I find.
Thank you, @charlhenri! I did the phone ordering yesterday; was on the line with the rep a little longer than I'd hoped because she kind of kept trying to steer me toward their most expensive item in the category! Arriving tomorrow, so as soon as I can take the pics and return, that charge will be off the credit card.

Uh, oh. Have you done one that was problematic? I did one for another MSC in the spring, and for a $25 item it was an absolute nightmare. I like this other MSC, but their reports tend to be pretty long....

I like these (depending on the MSC) but I have been bitten....in that I've developed a taste for some of these high end items. It was better when I didn't know that they existed! Now my mystery shopping $ goes towards my overpriced handbag fund.

Oh, yes; I know! This was the fragrance one, so I'm not too tempted. But a handbag shop? I'd be hard-pressed to return it!

I get frequent emails from this company but I don't recall ever doing a shop with them. Since I can't see details before I apply or accept a shop, I'm hesitant. How are their reports for the watch and coffee ones. Is there a lot of narrative? Are there redundant questions? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I just did the watch shop a couple of weeks ago (and already got paid for it!), and I thought it was easier, with fewer questions, than it was with the MSC that had them last year. I did the coffee shop several years ago and it was more work than the fee justified. I haven't done one since, so it may have been simplified. The biggest problem for me was taking photos of the machines. They're so reflective that it was impossible to get clear, clean photos, but my shop was accepted. Their reports do have some narrative, but just a few sentences where required, and not required for every answer. Depending on the shop, the reports can be very detailed.

If you're interested in a shop, just reply to the scheduler and ask for the scenario. They're great about letting you know ahead of time what's required. I do wish they had a traditional job board, though; I had understood a few years ago that they were going to implement one, but never did.

They used to have a slow-pay cycle, so I was surprised when I got my payment so quickly. I really like working with them, but I generally won't do one at base fee. But the watch shop fee was pretty good to begin with, not that far away from me, and I like doing them!
