Another Post Office Shop Issue

Me too. I did 3 last week the same way as always — I just uploaded pics straight to the online survey without any naming conventions. All 3 went through without a hitch.

Name all the attachments using no accents and should not exceed 30 characters:
Task Name_City_Date_Type of Attachment
(please use the following format for the date YYMMDD)

Example
Reg_Omaha_200130_Receipt.jpg
Reg_Omaha_200130_Box.jpg
Reg_Omaha_200130_BoxRec.jpg
Thanks for all the replies. I like to identify and thought type meant receipt vs photo etc. So I guess I will use USPS_LAPreuss_200130_rec and let the jpg add itself. I like to have either USPS or the name of the msc in the first place on the label so I can sort all of one company alphabetically if I need them later. Some of you said you delete your photos immediately. Although I have never been asked for another for this job I do sometimes need to resend photos.

If you’re willing to take the risk that you could potentially do a whole bunch of them and have them rejected, just keep doing that?
I don't understand why this photo name thing is a "me" problem anyway. Computers are great at repetitive pattern replacement tasks like this. Just fix the survey and app so they name the photos as they are uploaded. There's no consistency here anyway, as they have not actually effectively defined what they want in there for things like "type" and "city". Or even the picture type at the end for that matter.

Everyone has their own abbreviations for the type. I've seen REG, reg, hazmat, HAZ, and many others all used on the forum. And for city some are using zip code and some are using some abbreviation of the city name. With just thirty characters to work with, there's no way abbreviations will be avoided. LA is an abbreviation not the city name, albeit a commonly understood one. When I do the shop you just did in a couple of weeks, my chosen abbreviation won't match yours. They think they are going to get consistent file names but they are not. So really, we're all just marching around in circles for no net gain.
