I bought my husband a pair of prescription Ray Ban's once on a shop at a brick and mortar store. They were over $300.

Rats in a poke. i just got my prescription sunglasses as part of a two-fer. I paid less for two than I used to pay for one.Pfffft.

All the brands that this monopoly company owns are significantly overpriced. They just about own every brand of glasses, vision insurance, and optical stores. I highly recommend Warby Parker if anyone is looking for a reasonably priced prescription sunglasses. $175 (tax and shipping included) for a pair. Their customer service is great and the quality of their glasses is good. If you purchase it online, Ibotta and TopCashBack often have 10-20% cashback to save even more. After insurance and the cashback, I only paid $20 for a pair of prescription sunglasses.

Hey Jas, yes I read all of the info you reposted in the thread. When I said they did not tell the client or any info I meant on their site or in their emails. There was not enough info on the site to assess if the job was reasonable. One of the shoppers mentioned they saw the client name posted. I looked at all the links they sent me and none mentioned the client's name. I also wondered when I thought about applying how much reporting was required...did it require uploading every screen you scrolled through on each of the 4 orders? pita for me if that was the case. but no infor either on what would be required. Was there a lot of narrative involved on the ordering and return process? Basically was it like 4 intense jobs?

@sandyf The client's name was listed on the google form link where you're supposed to enter the shop report. I gave a huge hint who the client is. Google glasses monopoly and you'll know who the client is. 80% of the brands shopped are owned by the client. The rest are competitors. They dominate the eyewear industry. Just about any brand of glasses is owned by them. They give you a separate google form link to enter the report for each brand. Based on the guidelines, it's a lot of work. You have to contact customer service via email, phone, and online chat for each brand.

Also, do you really want to pay $300+ for a pair of prescription sunglasses when you're only reimbursed $65 and paid a $55 fee?

Honestly, if you're in need of prescription sunglasses, just buy it with your own money at Warby Parker or Costco. It'll still be cheaper than what you buy for the shop after reimbursement/fee.

No actually I really do not want to do this job. What I am saying is that the msc does not give any info. Perhaps you saw the info once you accepted the shop. Yes, and it was reported here. My comment was regarding the fact that those of us who did not accept a job had no idea of any of this. Thanks to this website and your reporting we now know these details. I am simply saying that before being assigned we knew almost nothing.

I would not touch initially because of the MSC doing it and now that I know even more details I will have to get out my 39 and a half foot pole.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

Why would you want this, sauce? What's likely to happen is that you get reimbursed $65 out of minimum $225 for glasses that you could get at Costco for $79. Then I'm betting at least one of the companies will "find" a scratch or something that renders the glasses unreturnable. That'll be another $225 out of your pocket.

I got assigned to one of these for just the prescription glasses - purchasing from two different retailers and keeping one while returning the other. The reimbursement didn't cover the cost of the pair you were required to keep ($119 was the cheapest) so I asked the scheduler to cancel for me. She attempted to get the reimbursement fully approved by the client but could not.
