Hazmat Inquiry for USPS

I have the opportunity to do several hazmat shops at the Post Office. But I'm no where near the zones 5 - 8 required on the ship to zip code. I don't know anyone out that way either. Any suggestions?

You need to find someone who is in your zone 5 (probably about 1,000 miles away from where you live). If you ship to a zone 8 you are probably going to go over the reimbursement, so unless you are shipping to a friend who lives in that zone and you have something you want them to have, it doesn't make sense for you to go over your reimbursement. And additionally, if the post office does their job correctly, your package will not be accepted. Occasionally they slip up and send the package, though.

Here is a link to an old thread with forum members who are interested in accepting packages. It's been closed, but people there have entered the first 3 digits of their postal code so you can figure out who is in the right area for you to send, and then you can send them a PM asking if you can mail them a package.

There were some issues not too long ago with forum members sending packages to food banks.

Thank you very much and also for the links to previous discussions. I did a search but you nailed it down well for me!
Personally, we really need rocks here in NC 28411 if anyone wants to send some. We have to buy them for the driveway because of the mud since the hurricane. I also help out at the food bank and pet shelter here with the extra's from my grocery shops because the need is still so great since the storm. The schools can use crayons, paper, notebooks, pencils, pens anything like that, kids books especially needed. Doesn't have to be new as far as the books go, several school library's were wiped out and most classroom bookshelves were destroyed too. Please message for the address and I will get them to the right place.
No problem, wildherbs.
