Hahaaaa! Guidelines with no Questions

I just did a shop. The guidelines stated specifics for the restroom check and had questions to ask employees on the floor.
NONE of this was in the report as questions or even yes/no. Lolol There was no place to comment to add the information so I typed it in notepad, took a screenshot, and uploaded it with my receipt.
I sure hope they needed that info! I can’t stop laughing. We do what we gotta do!
Hahaaaa!

I am sure many of us see these types of discrepancies a lot where guidelines have things not in the actual questionnaire. The vice-versa is bad because if you didn't review the questionnaire, you would miss some of the items to enter.

It depends on my mood. Sometimes, I don't share the information not asked and just save it in my notes in case they ask in follow-up. Other times, I might email it separately. I think it just depends how many shops i have done with a given company on how to respond on things not asked.
A typical consulting firm uses “go-by’s” to remain competitive with their competition. The restroom check may or may not have been part of the work, as that could have simply been an oversight either in the report itself, in the guidelines or both. In the end, you did some good due diligence. Good for you.

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

Many times the report is updated to remove something but the guidelines do not change. The most frequent I see in the companies I work for is asking for description, name and sometimes a short conversation with the manager and then deleting that question and never deleting it from the guidelines. I myself keep forgetting every time I do those shops to cross manager off my cheat sheet. So I keep getting the info just in case.
Yes, Sandy, as soon as you skip that manager part, it will surely be on the form!

@Rhondabryant, I like people that can laugh at life's absurdities. I hope the shop works out!

proudly shopping in the D.
I did a shop not too long ago where the guidelines instructed a Geoverify, exterior photo, and photos inside.

When I did the report, no spaces for any of those items were provided.

A couple days later, someone e-mailed me to please send them the photos and code, and they'd put them in the report for me!

So frustrating! I don't understand why we shoppers find so many contradictions and ambiguities in shop instructions and reports! What's even worse than prepping for a question that doesn't exist is not prepping for one that does exist. Argh.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
