I take table pics of my food all the time - especially if it's something really good and I want to rub it in my brother's face LOL I was more concerned about the dining room picture.....

It would be easy if it was just a picture of your food but they want a picture of the entire table from an overhead view so the only way I see to do that is by standing up. I don’t have a problem with getting a picture of the entire dining room. I can just act like I’m texting when entering or leaving. I’ve done this before on other shops and no one notices me.

I have stood up to take many a pic in a restaurant of this caliber or even greater, with a regular camera no less, and no one ever seemed to give me a second look. There are no Chilis close by where i live and I would not drive an hour for that type of meal and report. I am thinking tho that since this msc almost never pays a fee it is costing far less when they bid these jobs out. The food alone can probably be written off by the restaurant.
I would be concerned however that it may turn out to have more than one narrative. I have taken many jobs where the narrative boxes suddenly pop up when you answer certain questions in a certain way and cannot be seen before actually entering data into the report.
On the plus side in my no bonus town I have started seeing bonuses from this msc on some of their shops....so hang on and see if it happens on these. There were March bonus shops for the grocery store, the dog food and the pizza shops....
One hour round trip for us. No thank you.
I have never seen any surprise/ pop up narratives from this MSC. They offer links to the guidelines and the questionnaire so you see all that is expected of you.

There is one about 3 miles from us so I figured we could give it a go. My shop is tomorrow evening. If it's a complete bust, at least they have pretty good appetizers.

The original guidelines said you needed a guest for diinner but now it’s optionally so you can eat alone.
I wish I could see these shops on my job board. No matter how many shops I do for this MSC I can't seem to get to the next level where I can see all the shops that they offer (like Bacool smiley.
I've done several shops for the MSC, though none for Chili's. I plan to do some as hubby, daughter-in-law, and others in the family like chili's. So even if it does not cover the whole meal, and the report does not take hours, I can take them and pocket the money. As for the pics, I have always had to take pics for this MSC and this is nothing new. I will get the pic, even if the notice me. With all the pics of food being and people being taken today. Push come to shove, I'll use a selfie stick, have my guest sit next to me, and then put the camera up high enough to take the pic. Should work.

I have not seen any Chillis. I guess I am not signed up with the right company or it is not shopped in my area.

I was thinking about one company when you said pizza but I didn't see it unless it is a different pizza place that we don't have here.
I have a few theories...

1. They want us to take photos so it looks like "regular shoppers" are having fun! Weeee
2. If other guests see one table doing this, they might think it is appropriate for them to do so as well and then THEY might share their photo on social media.

I don't mind doing these as there are actually a TON in my area, still on the board. If they're available towards the end of the month, I might go alone for dinner.

I wonder if the staff know that mystery shoppers are taking overhead photos... that would be a huge giveaway and blow cover. Then again... they'll never see me ever again as a regular customer as I do not dine regularly at Chili's...
Yeah I saw the guidelines changed to allow solo diners. My issue is why most dining shops require dessert???!!! Yes I need 4800 calories today....

....... Or Chili's really cares more about how the table setup looks and if their staff is properly bussing their tables at specific points of the visit.

My speculation is that the scope of the project was really high level and the presentation the MSC presented to them was acceptable, as the report's surprisingly a format I actually like. The flaw is that the guidelines and reporting format for these shops don't feel scoped out well (in my opinion), resulting in a mix of different report styles from their shoppers, since the reporting guidelines aren't exactly scoped clearly.... If you've done one of these shops already, you'll know what I mean.

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

This one requires an appetizer, not dessert.
I believe it requires an appetizer OR dessert.
It also requires an alcoholic beverage for lunch if I read the requirements right. :/

I was speaking in general about dining shops even ones for lunch.

Actually the guidelines seem to be changing but it now says an appetizer OR entree is required and the drink can be non alcoholic. This is one to check again right before you go as the guidelines may change again!
Yep! Just checked. States guidelines were updated 4/5 so must have been sometime yesterday after I looked at them. Sweet.

I would do an appetizer and drink job near my house but not drive a distance to do a report just for an introduction to lunch or dinner. Most appetizers lately seem to be almost the same price as an entree with a fancier presentation and far less food. I have no interest in doing a long report and still having to fill myself up the rest of the way. A small eater can get away with an appetizer as a meal.
If only the restaurants still put free wonderful bread on the table I would never have to pay for anything or do a report. I still order a meal though and then leave too full. Free chips and salsa work for me too but I am pretty sure those places realized they were spending lots of $$ for these free items when I came by!!!
The picture that would cause me the most concern is the table AFTER you have eaten and are ready to leave.

Concern about remembering or being caught?

At that point I don’t care what the staff think about me.
Don't accept these shops! They are low-balling you on the numbers. Similar shops reimburse at least that much if not more and pay at least a $15 fee. When they people don't sign up, they will give a reasonable rate.
They have changed it, no alcohol is required. I completed my shop with $10 leftover
Try searching mystery shopping companies headquartered in georgia
I have done 2 Chili's lunch shops. The report is super easy. As for the pictures, I didn't even get the whole table the first shop but it went through fine .I did get the entrees and the drinks. I took the dining room picture while sitting at the table and the end picture when getting up to leave. The pictures were not that hard to get. Nobody even noticed me. I found the lunch shops to be affordable. They have $7 lunches during the week. We got free chips and salsa and drinks and were only over a couple dollars. We have several close to me and I'd rather do a short report then cook a meal so it works for me.
I get a coupon from Chili's for a free app or dessert at least 3x a week. Can we use coupons on this shop? I have 2 chili's in my town, and so the drive would not be too far.

The shop I wont do for this client, is elements massage. It only reimburses 85 and requires an 18% tip. An into massage is 79 so I would be out of pocket for the rest. No thanks. I would not be able to enjoy the massage either, because I'd be too worried about missing something. I won't do work where I have to pay money.
You know, you can buy other food to get to 35 bucks? I don't let any money go unspent.
I did one just because I happen to be at a shop close by. Report was really easy, took me less than 10 mins. Only 3 really easy pictures also. I did a lunch one so maybe it was easier than a dinner, but I still only used half the reimbursement amount.
Calicakes, I'm with you. I spend every penny. No need to waste it.
I have done Chili's lunch shops with a different company. I had to take a second person (my bestie), got $32 for lunch plus $12 fee. The only photos I had to take was of each meal before we staryed to eat. Since we like to meet for lunch I don't mind doing them for this MSC. The review form was about medium lengh with an average amount of questions and a few narratives.
I turn down all remursement only resturant shops unless it is to a place I eat at anyway or that I would lo e to try.
Anymore I am turning down anything with an under $10 fee and I only take those if I can bundle via multiple MSC in one area
