New Applebee's Shops

Yes, this particular MSC has a simple report and I like that they pay a fee and it's take out, which is so much easier. But there are two other MSCs who shop this client, one of which has reimbursement only shops that are dine-in. I wish I knew the third, but I will be trying to unravel that mystery this week by going through the list. Maybe Honny can give us a clue on which end of the alphabet to start with.

The MSC that offered the Applebee's shop reimbursed $25 and $8 fee for Carside service, not counting bonus pay. When describing the entrees, I look up the online menu and write down the ingredients to reference. For instance, I ordered the Double Crunch Shrimp. I did not realized that I was suppose to get tartar sauce and shrimp cocktail sauce on the side. It wasn't included with my order. It also could be a regional thing. For example, there's two MSC that does the Carl's Jr. shops. Both MSC have very different guidelines. One of them required a instant recognition/reveal shop, the other does not.

@Shoptosay1, You asked about recording apps. I like the ShopIt app. It's a one-time purchase and it does recording and a lot more for shoppers.
Shopit is for Apple only, right? I can not find it on Google Play store.
Yes, you can get it for Android. I use it on my Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. Search for Shop IT. Hope this helps.
The full title in the Play Store is Shop IT - Stealth Notes.
I see. I saw that one but I did not see that it records phone calls. I will download it and see what happens. Thanks so much!
Did anyone else hear that some Applebee's (and some IHOPs) will be closed in 2018? If so, are these shops designed to identify locations that will be closed?

@spicy1, I may be mistaken about the app recording phone calls. I know the app has a record function, but I do not recall if it is simply over-the-air or actually a phone call recorder. Sorry!
@rschalow Oh, yeah, no phone call recording. I think I just read into your Shop It post that there was a phone call recording part because I'm still looking for a good one and got all excited. I'm going to use it tonight to see all that it does.
I did hear about some of the Applebees and IHOPS were closing. As of now ours will stay open. In fact our IHOP just got redone a few months ago.
I'm so excited as I have one coming up in a couple of days! The last burger I got was not so good so I'm going to look at the menu again now. This one is a dinner shop so I can get a little crazy.
I loved the Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad. Huge portion, nice greens and a generous amount of chicken. I got the dressing on the side and also a side of ranch. Glad I got the Oriental vinaigrette on the side, I tasted it and tossed it, gross. A regular vinaigrette, Italian, or ranch would be fine with it.
Those chicken won ton tacos on the appetizer menu are da bomb, too. But get them to put the sauce on the side so they don't get soggy.
Spicy, last night I got a 2 for $20 and an iced tea. I was $1 over reimbursement with the tip. The 2 for $20 choices are pretty good.

Honny, you would love that Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad, I think. It has a lot of veggies that withstand being kept for a few days. I got 3 meals out of it. But get the dressing on the side, of course.
JAS, I got the boneless wings, the lemon chicken and the grilled oriental salad. They put the dressing on the side. I tasted it last night and it was great! I am going to have some of the wingers for dinner tonight.

You liked the dressing? I wonder if it varies from location to location? I hated it. Might just be me, though. Their boneless wings are much better than Friday's. At Friday's it's all breading. The ones at Applebees were good. My husband got the Three Cheese Cavatappi and he chopped up some of the boneless wings and mixed them in. How was that lemon chicken? I thought it looked ok except for the Granny Smith apple relish...
JAS, I had some of the salad to taste. I didn't use the dressing. It was the Lemon Chicken that I had for dinner, and it was awesome! The apples actually made the dish. They paired well with the lemon.

Carside to go. An easy way to get a nice lunch.
In my area they're mostly $8 shopper pay and $25 reimbursement. Some have ended up being $25 pay and $25 reimbursement and I've taken those. I have a long day once a week and I pop out and pick up a takeaway for dinner to bring back to the office. Salads are good and I think the report is easy.
I also got the 2 for 20. We enjoyed our meal but my wife said her portion side was smaller then what she gets in the restaurant.
That is exactly the opposite of what Panda Express does. If you get a plate to eat there you may get half to a third of what they put in the to go plates. I want my full 12 oz of teriyaki chicken, thank you very much!
Doing my 1st and the salad sounds great it's to-go and I'll have a bit of a drive on the freeway......will look at 2/20 menu.

Live consciously....
Stay away from the burgers and fries...the burgers for takeout are dry and the fries are always limp and cold by the time you get home.
I'll get a salad but the ribs sound o.k. I never get any burger to go except In@Out which is blks from my house.
I try not to eat fries anymore unless a job then a few is enough....McD's has the best fries.

I love their burgers but the burger I usually get is not part of the 2 for 20.

I like burger kings fries. We have a mom and pop burger shop here and they have the best burger and spicy fries.
THIS! The last shop I did, I canceled a Five Guys shop so I could get an Applebee's burger. It was AWFUL!

Yesterday, all of their burgers were $8, but it wasn't worth it.
