Felons Doing Mystery Shopping
I was convicted of a felony when I was 20. It was non-violent and non-sexual in nature. However, it will follow me for the rest of my life. Despite having a college degree, it is extremely difficult to find a decent job. I have been lucky enough to find a management position in hospitality with a company that decided to overlook what happened 14 years ago. I am able to supplement that with mystery shopping to make a very good living. I do, however, have to work about 60+ hours per week. We live in a VERY unforgiving society.
I think offering to moderate would be the way to go.

I don't think it is appropriate for anyone to PM the owner of a forum and ask to become a moderator. I am sure JacobJ is aware of who is naughty and who is nice on this forum. Eventually, the nice guys will receive an offer to become a moderator.
I am not implying that MFJohnston would or wouldn't be a good moderator by this post.

I would offer to moderate. And I think I would be a spectacular one. But I would never be allowed to be a moderator and I would NOT be anonymous. All my mod edits would have a BG attached to the end.

Another thing: Griff has been moderated before, and more than once I think. Doesn't that make someone ineligible to become a moderator? Yeah, it was unfair and senseless moderating, but you still were CENSORED, LOL. So...

Thank you for sharing! I definitely agree in our society it’s hard to get second chances from very many people. That’s great to hear that you were able to find a company to look past your old history. I used to tell the inmates I worked with that were getting ready for release it’s so important that if someone gives you a chance to not screw it up because you never know if/when you will get another chance at decent employment.
