Felons Doing Mystery Shopping
Felons have their own communities? Who knew. How do they choose their political leaders? It seems a waste to vote since someone would steal the election.

There are all different types of people that do mystery shopping. If someone is caught stealing during a shop the word gets around to the different companies because everyone knows each other somehow. They would have a very short career.
I worked at a correctional facility for 6 years, it is difficult for felons to get legitimate jobs but not at all impossible. Many of them did turn to self employment in various fields. The most common field was carpentry in my experience at my facility. I do not recall any ever mentioning mystery shopping. I will say that several of them were aware and did some app work such as Easy Shift and Field Agent. I will also add that one inmate told me that some people he knew that did app work because it gives people them quick money so they can use illegal substances. I had never given much thought about all the different types of people and circumstances involving that work before our conversation. I used to use those apps quite often a few years back before I found mystery shopping.

I think you are probably smart enough and strong enough and good enough to create threads on the basis of something that is you or your experience. Dude is not my pal, rather a merchandiser, among a sea of merchandisers, in my area; I talk to everyone. To create an entire thread about a single post is not uncommon here, however, it is always out of spite.
Advantage, btw, screens their applicants and doesn't hire people with questionable backgrounds.

Of course there are felons here. Felons have to get money just like everybody else, but especially where there are no background checks, no resumes, etc.

Actually, I had said that he was someone I knew in the original thread that you are quoting. I'm having, obviously, a really hard time with you saying that he is my "pal". I didn't say anything back to you when you said that in the original thread because I just thought you were being a smart-ass trouble maker. Maybe DavePI will chime in on the question of is a thief really a thief if he's taking back what was taken from him?

If they have paid their debt to society and served out their time, why not? Lissy, that was an interesting post. My neighbor two doors down and his wife are both felons. He makes good money as a handyman and she does some sort of at-home computer work.
Felons for non-violent offenses and that have children make great renters. So few people with houses in good neighborhoods will rent to them, so they're model tenants.

Felons can't work in Nevada since if they are Felons they won't be able to get the Work Card allowing them to shop there.......from what I was told.
How would the MSCs find out? I doubt if the felon shopper would disclose that in a report.

I agree ishop123. I had several inmates that I would have definitely hired if I had my own business at the time. I feel once they have done their time and if they truly want to rehabilitate themselves then they should be given a chance. It also definitely depended on what they were charged with. I was a guard and then moved positions to a case manager which helped them with release. Being a case manager was a great thing because I helped them find employment, housing and counseling if needed. Several times I told them to put me down as a reference and if a place of employment called I would vouch for them if they had done well in the facility and were taking their recovery seriously. It really opened my eyes to how I could help them on their path to being a productive citizen. Of course there are some that don’t want to change but you just do what you can and hope they change their minds.

Are you talking about convicted felons who served their time/paid their dues and took up mystery shopping as a career after they were released from prison? These people are free. Kudos to them for attempting work. Congrats to those who succeed in building a legitimate or honest working life for themselves. If any backside or embark on new-to-them crime, they should experience consequences.

The prison industrial complex is a good source for cheap labor. Prisoners get no more than a couple dollars a day and MSCs could contract with these prisons to get shops done for 25 cents a shop. Also after 50 mystery shops completed, they get a month off their prison sentence.
