Hello from NC!

Hi! New to the forum.

I signed up with a mystery shopping company a few years ago via my grocery store! I didn't know when I signed up with them, that I'd get information about other shops. I stopped doing shops for a few years, because we were living without a car, Now that we have a car, I reactivated my account for a few companies, and found a couple more to sign up with.

I've done shops for a couple of months now, just a few each month, simple low-pay shops, mostly. I'm glad this forum is here!

Hi there!! I'm also in NC smiling smiley
*Is that you snagging up all the jobs I keep trying for? LOL!!

I have only just begun Mystery Shopping again. I originally started back in 2007, I think... But, I lived in a smaller town then, and had a full-time job, on-call 24/7/365, to keep me busy. Now I'm completely unemployed now (not by choice, of course! I actually hate it!!) and started back up into MS'ing to get some sort of income, any sort of income, really. I recently started looking into Mechandising and Audits, and think those are things I'd like to get into as well - the variety is definitly key with me.

I'm still signing up with companies, trying to get some sort of "regular routine" of sorts.

I mostly "lurk" on this board, as well as Volition - Just trying to learn as much as I can from all the experienced folk. It's boards like these that are a God-send to us newbies, that's for sure!!

Hang in there! I'm still in the new/nervous stage myself, but it does get easier with time & practice. That much I do remember! smiling smiley
Hey NCMama and Just.Laura. What part of NC are y'all from? I'm not in NC but I did grow up there part time, though mostly in the summers when I was older. I've lived all over NC but the SE coastal area around Wilmington has my heart. Kinda makes me feel like I'm home when I hear others are from there. We tried to move back but the recession killed that chance. Blah. sad smiley
yawning smiley) Well then, I guess I'm right where your heart is ... I'm in Wilmington.

I spent my first year & a half in NC, living down at Carolina Beach - I do miss hearing the ocean at night yawning smiley( But, Wilmington is a great town. I'm still learning my way around, but I can see myself staying for many years to come. Oh, and my "dream neighborhood" would be Forest Hills!! God, I just LOVE the homes in there! We live on the other side of Independence Blvd, but are close enough that we're in the FH school district.

My job outlook def. hasn't been good here sad smiley I may be looking at moving to the Rocky Point area if I don't get real lucky, real soon, with a decent job. This recession really, really, bites!!!
Ah, you're killing me here! I'm dying of utter jealousy! LOL It's a little easier to take only because I was down in July and then again in August for a few days to visit family and the beach (priorities...I'm a beach girl). It wasn't nearly enough time to do all I wanted or see everyone I know. I'd hoped to take my littlest one (3 years) to the old KOA Campground on Market to see if the firetruck is still there. He's a man's boy through and through and I'm sure he'd have loved it.

Anyway, I do understand what you mean about this recession. My cousin had to reinvent himself because he was in the fireplace business...one of the first luxuries to go. His family is squeaking by on good humor and the grace of God. I wish you the best and hope you make it to Forest Hill. winking smiley
