The new kid

Greetings all! I have been perusing the forum for about a week now and feel as if I know some of you already, so I figured it was time to introduce myself. My name is Kristi and I'm new to the biz. I have thus far only completed one shop which has yet to be reviewed/accepted but I already have my second assignment scheduled for this weekend and I must admit I'm pretty nervous. Wish me luck! The information I've gleaned from this forum has been so helpful and an invaluable resource for a newb such as myself. I hope to become a regular part of your community and maybe even contribute some useful info myself someday. Thanks everyone and Happy Shopping! smiling smiley

Hi,
I have done mystery shopping before and most of the assignments were very interesting, I would like to do more than eat fast foods and auto dealerships though.
I do feel this is a worthwhile and important way of evaluating the performance of the procedures, and the employees representing the respective companies that hire mystery shoppers.
I would like to do more mystery shopping but I want to be paid money and not be awarded points toward a drawing (that I never ever win) and it takes awhile to fine the companies that pay actual money for the time spent mystery shopping.
I would like to make a living at this and I think I could if I could find the company that would value my time and objective feed back.
Unfortunately you are unlikely to, "Find the company" that would allow you to make a living at this. Generally you need to be working simultaneously with a number of companies. I am signed up with more than 200 and in a normal year, do work with about 30-40 of them. The other companies either do not currently have work in my area or are not paying fees that I feel make working for them worthwhile.
With the price of gas, you could probably make more money opening a lemonade stand.

I just do it for the food and the entertainment and to give back the "fly on the wall snapshot" that was so helpful to me when I was creating new business concepts. I do hope the editors let the information flow back to the clients to give an honest report.

Happy shopping.
