1st: Head over to the New Mystery Shopper section and read
2nd: Make another pot of coffee, get comfy and read some more
3rd: Start signing up with a few companies and try a couple of shops to see whether they 'feel right' for you.

Mystery shopping is not for everyone. It is flexible, it is great to be your own boss, it does bring in some extra cash and some nice perks. It can be exasperating as all get out! :^)

Hi there! I am new too, started December 28,2010, have done 16 sops and am waiting to get paid now. I have so far signed up for 15 companis. Have done shops for 3 or 4. From all I have read here, it sounds like I really have nothing to worry about. If you would like to know more about my experiences sned me a private message. Good Luck! Tumbleweed
Yes. Be aware it is not 'pie in the sky' and you won't get rich. But yes, there is legitimate mystery shopping.
Just always remember if they want money from you RUN!!!!! I shop for 4 companies and get paid usually faster than they tell me. If they do not want money they are probably legit.
Don't ever ever ever pay anyone to let you work or for what they will tell you is some kind of preferential treatment. Satisfaction Services will let you apply for free but then they tried the angle that to get the jobs from their site you needed to pay them some money for preferential shopper status.

Also, do not EVER EVER EVER cash/deposit huge checks into your account and then get notice to send money elsewhere. It's a total scam and the scammers use the names of real mystery shopping companies to try to get suckers to fall for it.

Sign up for every MS company on this board's listings. You will discover from the topics here who is a decent company to work for and who isn't.

Good luck.
