New to mystery shopping

Hi,

I'm from Montgomery County MD. I've been doing mystery shopping about a month now and have done seven assignments for various companies. I do them when I can fit them in with the full-time job.

I've had good and bad experiences already. I'm looking for whatever advice anyone is willing to share with me (companies to work for, to avoid, how to get into more that deal with higher pay, spas, massages, restaurants, etc.).

I've received one check already, but each company has their own way of paying (direct deposit, PayPal, check, etc.). I don't know at this point who I can trust and who I can't.

Welcome to the forum! Reading other shoppers' tales will answer most of your questions. Also, use the Search feature here and find answers to specific questions you have regarding MSPs.

I am new to this Have done about 10 shops but not seen any money yet. Would like to hear about companies you can trust and those that do business in NOva Scotia Canada Thanks

I don't know that we have any Nova Scotia shoppers around David, but welcome! Your best bet is likely to be to check Jobslinger.com for companies that have work in your area. While the jobs on that board are likely taken already, it at least lets you know who is shopping the area. Then do your research. Most of the companies that post to Jobslinger.com do their reporting through the SASSIE reporting system, but that job board pulls from several sites and so the companies are going to be legitimate. This forum and the one at Volition.com are probably the two most active these days in terms of doing a "Search" to see shopper experience with the company. "Legitimacy" does not equal being able to trust them sometimes. By the way, both Jobslinger.com and Volition.com are free sites, as is this forum.
