Hi Everyone - Important Question

I am new to this forum. I want to ask an important question. I received a letter from MCS Corporation with a check enclosed. I am wondering if this is a scam. It is supposed to cover pay for first week and two trial assignments.

Please let me know if this is what valid companies do??

Yes it is a scam.

Do any of the valid companies do this? Pay ahead?
Yes, it is a total SCAM. They probably want you to cash the check, keep some for yourself, and send the majority of the money to someone else, probably through Western Union. Once the money has been sent, the check is no good.

Legitimate companies do not send money to total strangers who have not applied to work for them. Before a legitimate company contacts a shopper, the shopper will have registered and provided a social security number (because any payment is taxable). Legitimate companies do not pay in advance, they pay AFTER a job is completed. Mystery shopping fees are not high. The majority of assignments pay $10-15.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
No they do not. However the scams use the name of valid companies often.

Scam, run as fast as you can. DO NOT cash that check; your bank will hold YOU responsible when, in about 2 weeks, they discover that it is fraudulent!

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
It is a scam! 100% scam. Like Walesmaven said. Do not cash the check! Throw it away and move on. No one will pay you in advance. That alone should be a red flag.
It's a scam. Remember there are no free handouts. Keep a list of all the companies y sign up with. No ms pays y unless paperwork is submitted a y have signed up w them..Good luck
