new to mystery shopping

I'm in Texas City, Tx and I just got a mystery shopping instruction packet form LS NETVIEW PRO based in LaVergne, TN.

They sent me a 1898.45 check..gave me activation instructions and told me to keep 350.00 for salary.

The check is written on Bank of America. My husband is telling me it's a scam but I have heard of mystery shopping before. Can anyone give me any advice on how to determine if this is legitimate or not.

That is not mystery shopping it is a scam. You have to ask yourself this, who would be willing to pay you $350 for an hour or two of work and who would be willing to pay you in advance?

Real mystery shopping companies ask you to register on their secure site and provide detailed personal information including your Social Security Number. Real mystery shopping companies offer jobs which average between $5 and $15. Real mystery shopping companies pay you after you have completed the work and it has been accepted by their client, anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months after.

BTW, this is a public forum meaning anyone can register and read. Posting your e-mail address has guaranteed you will receive more of the bogus offers. It would be prudent to delete the information and change your e-mail address.

Scam, sca, scam.

Lisa is right. No legit. company will send you a check in advance. AND, if you deposit the check and draw out the funds to send back, YOU will have to repay the bank when their check bounces, and may end up in court, charged with passing a false check.

GLAD you came here to get the real story.

Do not do it,it is soooo fake i amlost went to jail trying to cash tht check!!!
I agree, trust me from experience!! It is definitely a scam!! I had this happen to me years ago when I was 18 and did not know any better. It wasn't for mystery shopping but it was the same type of scam. Now I am in debt to the bank quite a bit of money. Hind sight is the worst.
I got the same check for 1898.45 and they told me not to open the online assignment until the check has been cashed and money is in hand. The check doesn't look fake, but I have no idea what the bank account looks like. Are they just trying to capture my bank account information? Has anyone received the same exact check?
They are trying to stick you for the amount of the check...:p

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
