I'm new to mystery shopping, does getting certified really help your chances at jobs and which certifications are the best to have?

Sally, what will help you the most is getting some experience and establishing a good reputation with the mystery shopping companies. As a new shopper, I would suggest signing up with a lot of companies, but I would also suggest getting familiar with one company at a time. For example, it's not a good idea to book "new to you" shops more than one per day, or to start with "new to you" companies more than one at a time.

It would be good to research each company here on the board before you jump in, but you can expect to find both positive and negative comments about all the companies.

The best plan to get more work is to sign up with more companies and deliver what they want on schedule.

I get plenty of work without being MSPA certified.
