From the portion of the email posted at that link, sounds like a scam.
Kudos for playing it smart and checking first before following through - I hope more people do so.
Whenever you get an email like that - ask yourself the following:
1. Did you sign up with this company? (in other words, you went to their website, you filled out the sign up form, and you searched their job boards? Or, did they just all of a sudden solicit you?)
2. Did they send you a big ole' check and tell you to keep 200.00 out of it and send the rest back?
Think about it.. if shoppers were getting paid 200.00 for a simple shop - we would ALL be shoppers. Normal pay for Mystery Shopping is *after* you complete a job - and... $5.00 to $10.00 for beginner shoppers. Oh, and you get paid 30/45/60/90 days after your survey is submitted.
Again - good job on verifying the company first before falling for, what is starting to appear as, the scam.
