hi all

Good evening, I am excited to be joining this forum as I've already read some great information on it. I am 35, happily married I have 3 dogs who are the apples of my eyes. I live in Kansas City MO, I am very interested in doing video shops as I've read they pay more. I am a cancer survivor so I need all the work I can obtain. I grew up in SW MO and have lived in many places around the United States. I enjoy mystery shopping and I look foreward to meeting all my fellow mystery shoppers.

Welcome. There are no video shops anywhere near KC or Joplin or Springfield, LOL! BTW, go Cards!winking smiley

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

seriously? well dang thats sad sad smiley BTW I've always liked the Cards you have great taste
Flattery will get you everywhere! And how can you not like the current World Championswinking smiley

Seriously now. My suggestion would be to use the search function here and on Volition.com to look up some threads on video shopping. It will give you a great idea of the pitfalls and the rewards. There are a few companies that will loan equipment. My recommendation is to take advantage of it and try a few. If you hate it, nothing lost. If you love it, then you buy your own rig and are on your waywinking smiley EPMS (Ellis Property) is a good one for loaning the equipment and training you how to use it.

Right now the successful video shoppers travel quite a bit. It's a combo of going to where the jobs are available and rotations being longer for video shops than many written shops. In the few years since I stared video, I am seeing more jobs available. Depending on your goals, you may be fine with waiting for more in the greater KC area.

Either way, feel free to ask questions. We are all willing to help and some of us are not so sarcasticwinking smiley

I like cards too, but I prefer the black ones to the red ones. Spades are my favourite. winking smiley

Thank you for the info I appreciate it. I have my first video next week with EPMS but it's so far from here I earn anything. I'm just doing it from experience. I thought after ane if I like it I could road trip down to Arkansas area my heros' aka my parents live down there.
It's nice to hear someone give their parents the title of hero!
Welcome to the wonderful world of retail. And congrates on beating the big C. Give each one of your dogs an extra hug from a fellow dog lover. I have found that by doing mystery shopping, merchandising and Auditing I keep the money coming in. I do auditing for two companies Ritter Associates and Marketforce. Merchandisng I do for Marketforce, and Dot2Dot. I have also done some fun stuff like given out free gas cards to people who had the sticker of the sponser on their cars, which also got them entered into a 5000 gallon sweepstakes for fuel. If you are physically able to do "resets" that is good money (11-12.50 per hour) SARS does resets and it can be 4-8 hours of work. Ths involves lots of bending, kneeling, and lugging stuff that is usually under 20lbs. I fid it lots of fun and you usually work with a team so you get to meet new peole. good luck!
sinme in Maine
Thank you the big C was the worst/best thing I've been through I learned so much I couldn't have learned any other way. I have lumbar spinal steniosis unfortunately so I have to be careful with how much I lift. Heck I was thinking I wonder if theirs a need for disabled mystery shopper? some days pain is my only symptom then others I need a cane. I've always wanted to go to Maine my dad said it was amazingly beautiful there. My dogs say thank you for the hugs smiling smiley
P.S my apologies I just thought of something I said "some days my pain is my only symptom" I forgot about the fact that I walk with a very distinctive limp. I have a small janitorial business thankfully which also helps pay my bills. You know I'm one of those with the jet pack vacum on my back like I'm getting ready to take off for space winking smiley Do you have dogs?
Yes I have a 70 pound hound, she is a "bear" dog, she is the chaser dog in a pack of dogs. She was never trained as she is a pet. She is 11 years old. I understand the Pain thing as I have Fibro myalgia. I can not do more then two days of refits. I too walk with a limp some days worse then others(a little arthritics just to keep things interesting.) Yes I do wish they would do some handi-cap shops. They would be surprised at the treatment some of us get. But I am thankful to have the work as I am use to working two full tme jobs and have ot for 3 years now.
You sound like me my friend I went to college full time, worked a full time and a part time job Ivwas a 4.0 student for 1.5 years I had to quit because the govt said I work too.much $.
